Job summary

Solenco Infra Private Limited is seeking an experienced Procurement professional to manage end-to-end procurement for solar and wind projects in India. The role includes handling substations up to 220 kV, transformers, GIS/AIS equipment and transmission line materials.

You will develop vendor bases, issue RFQs/RFPs, negotiate terms, and coordinate with engineering and site teams to ensure timely delivery while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or diploma in Electrical/Supply Chain
• Minimum 6 years of procurement experience in renewable energy or power infra projects
• Experience with EPC procurement processes and vendor management
• Knowledge of substation equipment upto 220 kV and transmission line materials
• Strong negotiation, cost-saving and coordination skills
• Familiarity with import/export procedures and regulatory standards in power sector
• Integrity and discretion in handling confidential information

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement for solar and wind energy projects (modules, inverters, structures, cables, electrical components)
• Handle procurement for substations up to 220 kV including transformers and GIS/AIS equipment
• Source materials for transmission line projects (towers, conductors, insulators, fittings)
• Develop and maintain a strong vendor base; evaluate supplier performance
• Prepare RFQs, RFPs and purchase orders; negotiate pricing and delivery terms
• Coordinate with engineering, project and site teams for specs and timely delivery
• Monitor inventory levels and pursue cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards and industry regulations
• Track market trends and manage logistics to resolve supply chain issues

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Project Procurement Planning:

• Manage end-to-end procurement for solar and wind energy projects, including modules, inverters, structures, cables, and electrical components.
• Handle procurement for substation projects (up to 220 kV) including transformers, switchgear, GIS/AIS equipment, protection systems, etc
• Source materials for transmission line projects such as towers, conductors, insulators, and hardware fittings

2. Vendor Management:

• Develop and maintain a strong vendor base; evaluate supplier performance regularly.
• Prepare and process RFQs, RFPs and purchase orders.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost and efficiency.

3. Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and industry regulations

4. Procurement and Co-ordination:

• Coordinate with engineering, project, and site teams for technical specifications and timely delivery.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure cost effective procurement planning.
• Track market trends and identify cost saving opportunities.
• Manage logistics, coordination and resolve supply chain issues.

QUALIFICATION & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors degree in engineering / Diploma – Electrical/ Supply Chain Management
• Minimum 6 years of work experience in procurement in the renewable energy or power infrastructure projects.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Strong knowledge of substation equipment (upto 220kv) and transmission line materials.
• Experience in handling EPC procurement processes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Sap/ Oracle)
• Must have excellent computer skills i.e. Microsoft Office
• Strong writing and public speaking skills;
• Strategic Sourcing, Vendor negotiation and management, contract management, supply chain coordination, strong analytical and communication skills.
• Knowledge of import/ export procedures, familiarity with regulatory standards in the power sector.
