First Volt Power Services in Vadodara, India is seeking an experienced procurement engineer to manage end-to-end procurement for Substation and Transmission Line EPC projects. You will source vendors, prepare RFQs, and coordinate with engineering and project teams to meet schedules.
Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in electrical procurement, strong negotiation and cost-analysis skills, proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/SAP, and the ability to manage multiple milestones under tight deadlines.
Manage procurement activities for Substation and Transmission Line EPC projects.
Source and evaluate vendors for electrical, civil, mechanical, and transmission line materials.
Prepare RFQs, purchase orders, comparative statements, and negotiation sheets.
Procure materials such as transformers, HT/LT panels, switchgear, cables, conductors, insulators, CT/PT, isolators, structures, earthing materials, towers, hardware, and accessories.
Obtain and analyze vendor quotations and negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions.
Coordinate with engineering and project teams for BOQ, specifications, technical requirements, and material approvals.
Track material manufacturing, inspection, dispatch, and delivery as per project schedule.
Coordinate with vendors, transporters, stores, site teams, and project management for timely material availability.
Maintain purchase records, vendor database, order status, and procurement reports.
Identify alternate vendors and cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Ensure procurement is completed within approved budget, quality standards, and project timelines.
Handle vendor issues related to delays, quality, documentation, and payment coordination.
Bachelor's/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or relevant field.
2 to 4 years of experience in procurement/purchase, preferably in Electrical EPC, Substation, or Transmission Line projects.
Good knowledge of electrical and transmission line materials and specifications.
Strong vendor development, negotiation, cost analysis, and procurement skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/SAP, and purchase management systems.
Good communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.
Ability to manage multiple project procurement activities and meet strict deadlines.
