Process Technologist Solar Module / Cell

Job Overview

We are seeking a Process Technologist Solar Module / Cell for our client, Jupiter International Limited, based in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, India.

Job Summary

The Solar Cell and Module Process Technologist is responsible for evaluating and developing science-based process optimization methods and techniques used in manufacturing solar cells and modules. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of materials science, semiconductor processing, or photovoltaic technology, along with hands-on experience in a cleanroom or manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Evaluate and develop science-based process optimization methods for manufacturing processes such as wafering, texturing, doping, metallization, vacuum deposition, lamination, and encapsulation.
2. Research and collaborate with external R&D institutions, conduct experimental trials, and implement findings.
3. Analyze process data to identify trends and patterns, building a knowledge library for performance improvement.
4. Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for yield losses and defects.
5. Participate in continuous improvement projects and Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
2. Over 6 years of R&D experience in semiconductor, solar cell/module, optical fiber, or related fields.
3. Understanding of crystalline silicon and/or thin-film solar cell technologies; knowledge of device simulation/modelling is preferred.
4. Proficiency in data analysis tools and statistical process control (SPC).
5. Experience with process automation, cleanroom protocols, vacuum deposition, etching, and laser processes is desirable.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
