Job summary

Indosol Solar seeks a Process Engineer to develop and maintain manufacturing processes. You will focus on enhancing efficiency, yield, defect rate, and cost through DOE, material qualification, and standardized procedures.

Training Technicians and driving cost reduction programs will be key aspects. The role requires applying statistical methods (Excel, Minitab, JMP) to interpret data, define MQP, and support end-to-end integration from ingot to module.

Qualifications

• DOE and process development experience required.

• Experience with Six Sigma and cost reduction initiatives.
• Knowledge of FMEA and process controls.

Job description

Process team is responsible develop and maintain manufacturing processes mainly to enhance the overall performance parameters like efficiency, yield, defect rate, manufacturing cost, process validation and standardization, etc. The incumbent is responsible for various process developmental activities such as DOE, material qualification, alternate supplier qualification for performance improvements for solar cell & Ingot-wafer department.

Key Responsibilities of Role:

1. Process Management

• Analyze and troubleshoot process performance and establish improvement plans.
• Improve the cost of cell material (wafer, gas, chemical, metal paste), Ingot-wafer (polysilicon, quartz crucible, hot zones, diamond wire, etc) by reducing consumption.
• Optimize process conditions and materials to improve the optical and electrical quality
• Train and evaluate the performance of assigned Technicians.

2. Product Integration

• Evaluate process setting and stability of new production model in mass-production standpoint.
• Evaluation, standardization, sustenance and roadmap improvements from Ingot to wafer to cell to module for end-to-end integration

3. Process/Material Development

• Implement process/material development strategies, such as efficiency improvement, manufacturing cost reduction, yield improvements, through structured approach etc.
• Research foundational process/material through market intelligence, analysis, and characterization.
• Develop and test mass production reliability of proprietary process/material.

4. Process Standardization

• Provide and train standard operating procedures (SOP)
• Decide specification of process condition, material model & consumption, cell product performance & quality, etc.,
• Establish a standard process environment based on quality control standards.
• Modify cell process setting in accordance with solar module performance/quality requirements.
• Basic understanding of the characteristics of semiconductor or photovoltaic device/process.
• Statistical analysis skills utilizing relevant software (Excel, Mini-tab, JMP, etc.) to interpret data and derive conclusions.
• Define BOM (Bill of material) product wise for cell/Ingot/wafer
• Develop complete MQP (Manufacturing Quality Plan) and process control procedures (CTQ) for each process steps and preparing MQP
• Annual budget planning, CAPEX projects
• Responsible to prepare necessary SOP, work instructions for all measurement tools of Four Probe, EL, and Lifetime scanner, Core scan tester.
• Driving cost reduction projects by continuous improvement with materials, DOE, 6 sigma approach
• Define process FMEA of manufacturing process
