Flychem Private Limited invites chemistry graduates to join the Process R&D team to develop pharmaceutical intermediates and APIs. You will gain hands-on exposure to organic synthesis, route development, and scale-up activities in a collaborative environment.

The role emphasizes GLP, GMP, and ICH guidelines, strict documentation, and cross-functional coordination with Analytical R&D, QC, QA, and Production to deliver robust, cost-effective manufacturing processes.

Qualificações

• MSc in Chemistry with preference for organic chemistry.
• 1–3 years in Process R&D or API development preferred.
• Basic knowledge of organic reactions, reaction mechanisms and synthetic chemistry.
• Understanding of process optimisation, impurity profiling, purification and crystallisation techniques.
• Familiarity with GLP, GMP and ICH guidelines.
• Good documentation skills and lab safety awareness.

Responsabilidades

• Perform laboratory-scale organic synthesis for pharmaceutical intermediates and API development.
• Support end-to-end process R&D including literature search and route scouting.
• Conduct reaction optimisation, parameter studies, work-up, purification, crystallisation and drying.
• Monitor reactions using TLC, HPLC, GC and other analytical techniques.
• Identify and control process impurities, residual solvents and critical quality attributes.
• Maintain accurate notebooks, experimental records, material balances, yields and process documentation.
• Participate in process development, scale-up studies and technology transfer to pilot and commercial plants.
• Support plant-scale-up activities, batch monitoring and yield improvement.
• Follow GLP, GMP and laboratory safety practices.
• Develop awareness of ICH guidelines relevant to pharmaceutical process development (Q7, Q8, Q9, Q10, Q11, Q3A/Q3C).
• Assist in preparing process development reports, batch manufacturing procedures, SOPs and technology transfer documents.
• Coordinate with Analytical R&D, QC, QA and Production for successful process development and commercialisation.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated chemistry graduates to join our Process R&D team, focusing on the development of pharmaceutical intermediates and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).

The candidate will gain hands-on experience in organic synthesis, process development, reaction optimisation, end-to-end route development, technology transfer and plant-scale-up activities. Candidates should have a basic understanding of pharmaceutical quality systems, GLP, GMP and ICH guidelines, with a strong interest in developing safe, robust, cost-effective and scalable manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory-scale organic synthesis for pharmaceutical intermediates and API development.
• Support end-to-end process R&D activities, including literature search, patent review, route scouting, process development and optimisation.
• Conduct reaction optimisation, parameter studies, work-up, extraction, purification, crystallisation and drying.
• Monitor reactions using TLC, HPLC, GC and other analytical techniques.
• Identify and control process-related impurities, residual solvents and critical quality attributes.
• Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, experimental records, material balances, yields and process documentation.
• Participate in process development, scale-up studies and technology transfer from laboratory to pilot and commercial manufacturing plants.
• Support plant-scale-up activities, including batch monitoring, troubleshooting, process validation support and yield improvement.
• Understand and follow GLP, GMP and laboratory safety practices.

• Assist in preparing process development reports, batch manufacturing procedures, SOPs and technology transfer documents.
• Coordinate with Analytical R&D, QC, QA and Production teams for successful process development and commercialisation.

Qualifications and Skills

• M.Sc. in Chemistry; M.Sc. Organic Chemistry preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in Process R&D, pharmaceutical intermediates or API development is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of organic reactions, reaction mechanisms and synthetic chemistry.
• Understanding of process optimisation, impurity profiling, purification and crystallisation techniques.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory-to-plant scale-up and process troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with GLP, GMP and ICH guidelines.
• Good documentation skills and understanding of laboratory safety.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary R&D team.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with practical exposure to organic synthesis, pharmaceutical intermediate development, API process development, reaction optimisation and plant-scale-up activities will be preferred.
