What You Will Do
- Lead the design, development, integration, and verification of embedded software for aerospace systems.
- Provide technical guidance and architectural direction to software development teams.
- Decompose system requirements into high‑level software requirements.
- Drive software requirements, design, code reviews, and technical decision‑making.
- Mentor and coach engineers on software development best practices and engineering excellence.
- Support estimation, planning, risk management, and technical problem‑solving activities.
- Develop and maintain application software for embedded and real‑time systems.
- Design and implement low‑level device drivers for peripherals and communication interfaces.
- Develop software for communication protocols such as CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, ARINC 429, or equivalent.
- Perform debugging, performance optimisation, and root cause analysis of complex software issues.
- Conduct impact analysis and support corrective and preventive actions for field and customer issues.
- Support CI/CD pipeline implementation and maintenance; integrate automated build, test, and deployment workflows.
- Develop Python scripts and tools for automation, testing, data analysis, and productivity improvements.
- Support software configuration management and release activities.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace software development processes and standards.
- Support requirements traceability, verification activities, and certification deliverables.
- Participate in software lifecycle reviews and audits.
- Collaborate with Systems, Verification, Hardware, Quality, and Program teams throughout development.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Support backlog grooming, feature decomposition, and effort estimation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the software organisation.

Qualifications
- Minimum 12 years of industry experience in a safety‑critical domain (preferably aerospace), embedded software life cycle in accordance with DO‑178C processes.
- Aerospace or avionics software development experience.
- Knowledge of DO‑178C and certification processes.
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or Polarion.
- Experience with Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent DevOps tools.
- Knowledge of software verification, regression testing, and structural coverage concepts.
- Experience with static analysis tools and software quality processes.
- Exposure to embedded systems and board bring‑up activities.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering / Electronics and Communication Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Information Technology.
- Strong Python programming experience.
