Job summary

Tata Technologies in Pune is seeking a Press Tool Design Engineer with 23 years of relevant experience in sheet metal press tool design. The candidate should be hands-on in automotive press tools and proficient in Siemens NX and CATIA.

The role covers complete tool design activity from concept to manufacturing support. Responsibilities include design and development of blanking, piercing, progressive, forming and drawing tools, layouts, drawings, tool feasibility, die design, and coordination

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 23 years of relevant experience in sheet metal press tool design.
• Hands-on experience in automotive press tool design and proficiency in NX and CATIA.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of sheet metal press tools: blanking, piercing, progressive, forming and drawing.
• Prepare complete tool design layouts and detailed drawings.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, tool shop, quality and production teams.
• Support tool manufacture, trials and modifications; ensure designs comply with customer standards.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Press Tool Design Engineer with 23 years of relevant

experience in sheet metal press tool design. The candidate should have hands-on

experience in designing automotive press tools and be proficient in Siemens NX and

CATIA. The role involves complete tool design activities from concept to manufacturing

support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and development of sheet metal press tools such as:
• Blanking tools
• Piercing tools
• Progressive tools
• Forming and drawing tools
• Preparation of complete tool design layouts and detailed drawings
• Tool feasibility study based on part geometry and manufacturing requirements
• Die design activities including:
• Strip layout preparation
• Tool construction details
• Die assembly drawings
• Coordination with:
• Manufacturing and tool shop teams
• Quality and production departments
• Supporting tool manufacturing, trials, and tool modifications
• Ensuring designs comply with customer standards and internal design

guidelines

• Handling design changes and implementation of engineering modifications

Software Skills

• Siemens NX (Mandatory) Tool design, detailing, and assemblies
• CATIA (Mandatory) Part analysis and tool design support
• Knowledge of 2D drafting standards and GD&T is preferred

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes
• Understanding of press tool components and tool steels
• Awareness of tolerances, fits, and machining processes
• Experience in automotive press tool design is preferred

Education

• Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
