Job summary

Balaji Press Products in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, is seeking a Sr. Press Tool Designer with 5-10 years' experience in sheet metal stamping and automotive tooling.

The role requires a Diploma in Tool and Die Making (NTTF) or a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and strong 3D CAD skills (AutoCAD, SolidWorks). You will design and develop high-quality press tools, create drawings, collaborate with cross-functional teams, respond to RFQs, and ensure tools meet APQP and IATF standards, while tracking

Qualifications

• Diploma in Tool and Die Making from Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF) and Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5 to 10 years of experience in press tool design and development
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software, AUTOCAD, Solid works.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to prepare concepts and execute tool designs based on RFQs for cost estimations.
• Analyze the design of the part in the Forming Suite software in order to implement it into the tool design.
• In-depth knowledge of press tool components, design principles, and manufacturing processes
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve design issues

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality press tools to produce sheet metal components and assemblies
• Create detailed drawings, blueprints, and specifications for press tools(which include stage tools , compound tool , combination tool , progressive tool),Inspection gauges, jigs, and fixtures
• Knowledge of APQP and IATF requirements
• Analyse design for functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement as necessary
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tool makers, production, and quality control to ensure proper tooling design and operation
• Monitor and evaluate tool performance, making suggestions and implementing improvements to increase tool life and production efficiency
• Maintain technical records and documentation of all tool designs, modifications, and production processes
• Stay updated with the latest industry developments and advancements in press tool technology
• Should be able to respond to RFQ with all the technical details
• Interaction with suppliers for sending drawings and managing documents.
