Job summary

Alten is seeking an experienced engineer in Chennai to work on powertrain-related systems, applying CAD modelling and GD&T per ASME standards. You will maintain PLM data, manage releases, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet program timelines.

The role requires hands-on engineering experience, strong communication, and proficiency in MS Office, enabling you to deliver high-quality results within tight schedules.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with engine, transmission, driveline, exhaust and powertrain components.
• Proven CAD modelling, design proposals, remastering, and vehicle-level packaging skills.
• Knowledge of GD&T per ASME standards and applying it to drawings.
• Maintain PLM data and release processes.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; proficient in MS Office.
• Capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet timelines.

Job description

• Hands on experience in commodities such as Engine, Transmission, Driveline, Exhaust and other Powertrain related systems
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in CAD modelling, Design proposals, Remastering, vehicle-level packaging, Design rule studies, Assembly maintenance, Tolerance stack-up analysis, Drawing Creation & Checking, Engineering change management & Release Activities
• Strong technical knowledge and proven ability to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in Engineering drawings per ASME standards
• Maintain and structure component and assembly data within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and associated engineering-release processes
• Excellent written, verbal communication and technical presentation skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• Take ownership and collaborate directly (1:1) with cross-functional engineering teams to quickly understand technical requirements, prioritize activities effectively, and deliver high-quality results within program timelines
