Job summary

Z Ventures in Vadodara seeks an experienced production planning and operations leader to convert orders into a monthly production plan with precise despatch dates, and to drive the unit from partial commissioning to a 150 MT per month target through layout optimization, staffing, shift design and bottleneck elimination.

You will lead commissioning of advanced equipment, manage costs, yield, and scrap, chair daily meetings, and build a capable shop floor team while ensuring maintenance and vendor

Responsibilities

• Convert the order book into an executable monthly production plan and commit despatch dates against customer delivery schedules.
• Drive the unit from its present partial-commissioning state to the 150 MT per month target through layout, manpower deployment, shift design and bottleneck elimination.
• Lead commissioning and productionisation of the SLTL 6 kW fibre laser, the JFY 2,250 kN press brake, the SNE 38 CNC tube bender and the Blastclean pass-through shot blast and painting line, including operator training and cycle-time establishment.
• Own manufacturing cost per tonne. Control consumable, gas, electrode, wire, abrasive, paint and power consumption against issued norms and report monthly variance.
• Control plate and section yield. Approve nesting plans, monitor scrap and offcut recovery, and hold yield against the standard released by Design.
• Chair the daily production meeting: plan versus actual, WIP ageing, hold and rework status, manpower attendance and next-24-hour commitments.
• Build and lead the shop organisation - recruit, induct, skill-map, train and appraise engineers, supervisors, welders, fitters, grinders, blasters, painters and operators.
• Own preventive and breakdown maintenance for cranes, welding plant, compressors, CNC equipment, blasting and painting plant and utilities; maintain equipment history and spares minimum levels.
• Own the L&T vendor evaluation submission and comparable customer qualification packs - company and QC organograms, QMS procedures, equipment and calibration lists, welder and QC inspector lists, past project record, storage and facility declarations.
• Provide and maintain the customer-facing facilities required at qualification: seating for the customer QC and third-party inspector, computer, printer, scanner and internet connectivity.
• Enforce material traceability discipline - heat numbers, mill test certificates and identification transfer at every cutting operation, by hard punch or low-stress punch as the specification requires.
• Manage the plant operating budget, capital proposals and monthly MIS to the Chief Operating Officer.
• Drive 5S, Lean and continuous improvement, with root-cause analysis and closed-loop corrective action on every internal rejection and customer complaint.
