Job summary

ACG seeks a Production Engineer to oversee manufacturing operations, optimizing daily activities across laser cutting, bending, and SAP uploads to deliver high-quality, profitable products. You will supervise 10+ plant and 10+ contract associates in a fast-paced environment.

You will drive shop-floor safety, coordinate with Design, PPC, Stores and Procurement, and lead Kaizen/6S initiatives to ensure on-time delivery and continuous improvement across fabrication and assembly processes.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical degree is required.
• 4–8 years of production shop floor coordination with SAP PP knowledge.
• Experience with Lean tools (5S, Kaizen) and ISO standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure overall safety on shop floor and identify near misses, unsafe acts and conditions.
• Lead a team of 10+ plant associates and 10+ contract associates in a shift environment.
• Optimize resources including manpower, material and machines, especially laser cutting and bending equipment.
• Prepare and monitor weekly and daily production plans to meet targets.
• Perform self-inspection to ensure product quality and adherence to OTDIF.

Job description

Job Objective

To oversee our production operations by keeping manufacturing a smooth through efficient process, (Laser cutting, Bending & Parts uploading in SAP) monitoring employees and organizing workflows. Production Engineer should also be able to optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing the costs. The goal is to ensure that production processes deliver products of maximum quality in a profitable manner. In a fast-paced environment like production, the supervisor is an integral part of the manufacturing process, and he must be competent and comprehend complex operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall safety on shop floor and identifying Near mis, Unsafe acts & Unsafe condition
• Lead a team of 10+ Plant associate and 10+ contract associates in a shift environment
• Optimal utilization of resources including Manpower, Material, and machines. (Specially Laser cutting machine, Bending machine & related drawings knowledge)
• Prepare weekly and daily production plan and monitor it to achieve targets in Laser cut & bending parts & its on time supply.
• Responsible for self-inspection of job and entire quality of the product with OTDIF
• Ensuring stage wise part inspection and final inspection as per QAP to maintain quality of the product competitive in market
• Planning & coordination within production team to discuss the delivery schedule and ensure order execution through fabrication & assembly, successful IO, ITR Testing & Trials and FAT to dispatch machine in full.
• Coordinating with Design, Purchase, PPC, Stores, during order execution at various stages including drawing issuing, MRP, procurement, MR, material issuing and LC parts uploading
• Capable of doing risk assessment in production phase of machine and should resole the problem with appropriate action plan
• Execute NPD machines/projects with ACG NPD team by exhibiting Innovation and Cross functional teamwork.
• Preparing weekly customer wise, age wise inventory analysis report for execution location and conduct meeting with Stores, Purchase and Engineering team for Inventory control and consumption of non-moving inventory.
• Knowledge and experience in Lean manufacturing tools like SWOT analysis, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Work standardization, Lean Material flow.
• Identify Muda/wastes in manufacturing process and develop Kaizens to eliminate it.
• Rework Reduction
• Able to identify Capex requirement and prepare an annual Capex budget for production.
• Coordination with cross functional team to resolve critical customer complaints and implement CAPA
• Prepare various production MIS like BSC, GMI, Business rules
• Lead cost saving project
