Job summary

UTM Energy Private Limited is seeking a Plant Manager / Assistant Plant Manager to run our Compressed Biogas (CBG) Plant in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh. The role demands hands-on leadership to ensure safe, efficient and compliant plant operations with daily production targets.

The ideal candidate will oversee plant manpower, maintenance activities and process optimization, bringing 5–10 years of experience (minimum 2 in CBG/biogas). A B.Tech / B.E.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on CBG/Biogas plant operations.
• Minimum 5 years of overall professional experience.
• B.Tech/B.E. or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation or related engineering.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day CBG plant operations and ensure smooth functioning of all plant sections.
• Monitor and optimize biogas generation, methane recovery, CBG production and plant efficiency.
• Ensure production targets are achieved daily/monthly and maintain records.
• Monitor digester performance, feedstock handling, gas quality, upgrading and compression.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for energy efficiency and cost reduction.

Job Description

UTM Energy Private Limited is looking for an experienced and technically sound Plant Manager / Assistant Plant Manager to manage operations at our Compressed Biogas (CBG) Plant in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and reliable plant operations, maintaining production targets, optimizing plant performance, and managing plant manpower and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day CBG plant operations and ensure smooth functioning of all plant sections.
• Monitor and optimize biogas generation, methane recovery, CBG production and plant efficiency.
• Ensure consistent plant performance and achievement of daily/monthly production targets.
• Monitor key process parameters including digester performance, feedstock handling, gas quality, HS removal, upgrading and compression.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Identify operational issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage plant manpower, shift operations and allocation of responsibilities.
• Ensure proper handling and feeding of biomass/feedstock and maintain consistency in feed preparation.
• Monitor raw material consumption, utilities, chemicals and other operating parameters.
• Ensure compliance with plant safety, environmental and operational procedures.
• Maintain production, operational and maintenance records and prepare periodic reports.
• Coordinate with management, vendors, contractors and technical teams for smooth plant operations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for production optimization, energy efficiency and reduction in operating costs.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in CBG/Biogas plant operations is mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of overall professional experience.
• B.Tech / B.E. or higher qualification in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Biotechnology, Environmental or related engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of anaerobic digestion, biogas production and CBG manufacturing processes.
• Experience in handling plant operations, manpower and maintenance activities.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a 247 plant environment and manage operational challenges effectively.
• Candidates with experience in CBG upgrading, HS removal, gas compression, digestate/slurry management and biomass feedstock handling will be preferred.
