Job summary

Chakr Innovation is seeking an experienced Plant HR professional to lead manpower planning and off-role hiring for the facility in Gurugram. You will ensure strict compliance with labour laws, manage payroll interfaces, and oversee contractor governance to maintain smooth plant operations.

The role requires strong expertise in labour welfare, industrial relations, and HR operations within a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience in planning and managing plant manpower.
  • Strong understanding of labour laws and compliance.
  • Proven track record in off-role/contract manpower hiring and coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage manpower needs for plant operations with cross-functional teams.
  • Drive off-role hiring including contract labour and apprentices.
  • Maintain manpower MIS and monitor headcount against sanctioned numbers.
  • Ensure compliance with central and state labour laws and regulations.
  • Oversee statutory compliance for contract labour, wages, hours, leave, and records.
  • Coordinate with government authorities and labour inspectors as required.
  • Submit statutory returns, licences, renewals, and related records on time.
  • Manage lifecycle of contract labour deployment at the plant.
  • Ensure contractors comply with wage, PF, ESI, insurance, attendance, and related obligations.
  • Handle day-to-day employee grievances and maintain positive relations.
  • Support disciplinary processes and address absenteeism and misconduct.
  • Coordinate with payroll for accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Maintain joining formalities, separations, and HR records.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and welfare activities at the plant.

Job description

Role & responsibilities
  • Plan and manage manpower requirements for plant operations in coordination with production, maintenance, quality, and other functional teams.
  • Drive off-role hiring, including contract labour, temporary manpower, trainees, apprentices, and other non-permanent workforce.
  • Maintain manpower MIS and monitor sanctioned vs. actual headcount.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable central and state labour laws, rules, and government regulations.
  • Manage statutory compliance related to contract labour, wages, working hours, leave, social security, employment records, and other applicable requirements.
  • Coordinate with government authorities, labour departments, inspectors, and other statutory bodies as required.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory returns, registers, licences, renewals, and other compliance documentation.
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of contract labour deployment at the plant.
  • Ensure contractors comply with statutory requirements, including wage, PF, ESI, insurance, attendance, and other applicable obligations.
  • Handle day-to-day employee grievances and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Support resolution of disciplinary matters, absenteeism, misconduct, and workplace issues
  • Manage attendance, leave, shift, overtime, and manpower-related processes.
  • Coordinate with payroll teams for accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Ensure proper employee documentation, joining formalities, separation processes, and HR records.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives at the plant.
  • Coordinate welfare activities, employee communication, celebrations, and engagement programs.

Preferred candidate profile
  • MBA / PG Diploma in Human Resources / Personnel Management / Labour Welfare preferred.
  • Additional qualification in Labour Laws / Industrial Relations will be an advantage.
  • 47 years of relevant experience in Plant HR / Manufacturing HR / Industrial Relations.
  • Experience in managing off-role/contractual manpower hiring and contractor workforce is essential.
  • Strong exposure to government/statutory labour compliance and plant HR operations is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, automotive, chemical, or other industrial environment will be an advantage.
