My Client is an Indian MNC and has a Plant HR Manager role in Talegaon
Looking to hire a dynamic Plant HR Manager to lead comprehensive HR responsibilities with a strong focus on bluecollar workforce hiring through institutional partnerships, contractual labour management, statutory compliance, and workforce optimization. The role demands handson expertise in managing large shopfloor manpower, contractor coordination, and seamless integration of HR policies with business objectives in a highpaced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Institutional/University Hiring & Workforce Development
- Establish tieups with several ITIs, polytechnics, skill development centers, and universities to build a sustainable pipeline of shopfloor talent (welders, fitters, machinists, operators, diploma holders).
- Drive apprenticeship programs and campus recruitment initiatives to ensure continuous supply of certified manpower.
- Develop onboarding, induction, and skilldevelopment frameworks tailored for shopfloor employees.
Contractual Workforce Management
- Oversee endtoend management of contractual manpower (1,0002,000 employees), including deployment, attendance, shift management, and discipline.
- Manage labour contractors, vendor compliance, wage verification, and statutory adherence.
- Ensure smooth workforce deployment across mechanical and electrical functions.
Compliance & HR Operations
- Ensure 100% statutory compliance (PF, ESIC, Gratuity, Bonus, LWF, etc.).
- Prepare for and support government inspections and audits related to labor and employment practices.
- Monitor leading and lagging indicators to track workforce performance and compliance.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Build strong connect across levels from shopfloor to senior leadership.
- Mediate and resolve labor conflicts with minimal disruption to operations.
- Implement moralebuilding initiatives for permanent and contractual employees.
Performance Management & Training
- Identify skill gaps and support training initiatives, especially for plant and contract staff.
- Partner with line managers to drive productivity improvement and workforce discipline.
- Conduct regular welder/technician review meetings and training sessions.
HR Strategy & Policy
- Align HR strategy with business goals in cost optimization, attrition control, and process improvement.
- Develop SOPs for labour deployment, vendor governance, and statutory records.
- Support manpower budgeting and optimization initiatives, including Greenfield project experience.
Key Requirements
- Graduate/Postgraduate in HR / Business Administration / Labour Law.
- 10–18 years of HR experience in large manufacturing setups with heavy contractual workforce.
- Proven ability to build relationships with ITIs, polytechnics, skill centers, and manage apprenticeships.
- Strong hiring ability for bluecollar candidates (diploma holders, welders, operators).
- Experience in handling manpower of 1,000–2,000 employees.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and fabrication basics.
- Strong influencing ability; bold, dynamic, superactive personality with excellent communication skills.
- Preferably a local candidate from Chakan/Talegaon.
- Must have experience in Greenfield project HR setup.
