Job summary

Joymex Foods in Mumbai is seeking a senior operations leader to head Production, Quality, Stores and Dispatch in a fast-moving food manufacturing environment.

You will plan and drive production schedules, ensure product quality per specs, manage manpower across shifts, and coordinate with maintenance, QA and logistics to meet customer requirements.

The ideal candidate has 8–15 years in plant leadership, strong leadership, and hands-on shop-floor experience with GMP/FSSAI.

Qualifications

• 8–15 years of experience in food manufacturing / FMCG, in plant leadership or senior operations.
• Proven track record in Production, Quality, Stores and Dispatch management.
• Hands-on on factory manpower and multi-shift operations.
• Strong knowledge of FSSAI, GMP, hygiene and food manufacturing practices.
• Experience with ERP / inventory and production management is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

Production

• Plan and execute daily, weekly and monthly production as per order requirements.
• Ensure achievement of production targets while maintaining product quality and minimizing wastage.
• Monitor production processes, machine utilization, downtime and overall plant efficiency.
• Ensure proper manpower planning and deployment across shifts.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure smooth functioning of machinery.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Drive improvements in productivity, yield and cost efficiency.

Quality & Food Safety

• Ensure consistent product quality as per defined specifications.
• Supervise implementation of quality checks throughout the production process.
• Ensure compliance with FSSAI requirements and internal quality standards.
• Maintain proper quality, hygiene, sanitation and production records.
• Coordinate with the Quality team for handling customer complaints, deviations and corrective actions.
• Ensure proper implementation of GMP, personal hygiene and food safety practices on the shop floor.

Stores & Inventory

• Oversee receipt, storage and issue of raw materials, packaging materials and finished goods.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO).
• Ensure accurate stock records and regular physical stock verification.
• Monitor material consumption, wastage and variances.
• Coordinate with Purchase and Production teams for timely availability of materials.

Dispatch & Logistics

• Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of finished goods as per customer requirements.
• Coordinate with the sales/admin team regarding dispatch priorities and delivery schedules.
• Ensure proper finished-goods storage and stock management.
• Verify dispatch documentation and loading accuracy.
• Coordinate with transporters and logistics partners to ensure smooth movement of goods.

Team & Plant Management

• Lead and manage production, quality, stores and dispatch teams.
• Establish accountability and discipline across departments.
• Conduct regular meetings to review production, quality, inventory and dispatch performance.
• Train and develop plant personnel.
• Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene and housekeeping standards.
• Take ownership of overall plant performance and operational issues.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience: 8 to 15 years of experience in food manufacturing / FMCG manufacturing, preferably in a plant leadership or senior operations role.
• Strong experience in managing Production + Quality + Stores + Dispatch.
• Hands-on experience in managing factory manpower and multiple shifts.
• Good understanding of FSSAI, GMP, hygiene and food manufacturing practices.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, inventory control and plant operations.
• Should be comfortable working on the shop floor and handling day-to-day operational challenges.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and team-management skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Experience with ERP/software-based inventory and production management will be an advantage.
