Job summary

Talent Corner Hr Services is seeking an Operations Manager to lead end-to-end plant operations in an FMCG manufacturing environment in India. You will own production planning, productivity improvements, process control, and maintenance coordination to meet quality, cost, delivery, safety, and manpower targets.

Key responsibilities include managing Production, Packing and Dispatch, achieving daily/monthly plans, monitoring OEE and line efficiency, reducing losses, and ensuring adherence to SOPs,

Qualifications

• Experience in FMCG plant operations is essential.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSSAI, GMP and hygiene practices.

Position: Operations Manager Manufacturing

Department: Operations / Manufacturing
Reporting To: Plant Head / General Manager / Director
Industry: Food & Beverages

Job Purpose

The Operations Manager will be responsible for end-to-end plant operations, ensuring achievement of Production, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Manpower targets.

The role requires strong ownership of production planning, productivity improvement, process control, maintenance coordination, inventory, quality systems, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage complete day-to-day FMCG plant operations across Production, Packing, and Dispatch.
• Achieve daily/monthly production plans and volume targets through optimum utilization of manpower and machinery.
• Monitor OEE, productivity, capacity utilization, line efficiency, downtime, and output per man-hour.
• Reduce rejection, wastage, scrap, rework, and process losses.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, GMP, 5S, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing practices.
• Coordinate with PPC, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Dispatch teams.
• Ensure adequate availability of raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables as per production requirements.
• Monitor preventive and breakdown maintenance to maximize machine uptime.
• Ensure finished products meet defined quality and packaging standards.
• Drive cost reduction in manpower, utilities, consumables, packaging, and operational losses.
• Manage shift planning, manpower deployment, absenteeism, overtime and productivity.
• Ensure FIFO/FEFO, inventory control, and material traceability, wherever applicable.
• Maintain compliance EHS, statutory, food safety requirements.
• Conduct daily Production/Operations Review Meetings and resolve operational bottlenecks.
• Develop Supervisors, Engineers, and Operators through training and performance management.
• Prepare and present Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Operations MIS to management.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSSAI, GMP, hygiene, traceability, food safety, shelf-life management, and FEFO is mandatory for the role.
