Job summary

Tata Projects is seeking an experienced Senior Planning and Scheduling professional to lead and optimize project schedules across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

The role requires 10–15 years in planning on fertilizer, petrochemical, refinery, chemical, oil & gas, energy, or EPC projects, with Primavera P6 certification or equivalent. Strong leadership and coordination skills are essential for client-facing reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering or related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Project Management or Construction Management preferred.
  • Primavera P6 certification, PMP, PSP or equivalent desirable.
  • 10-15 years of experience in Project Planning and Scheduling on Fertilizer, Petrochemical, Refinery, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Energy or EPC projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules spanning engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
  • Establish baselines, milestones, critical paths and progress measurement aligned with project objectives.
  • Monitor progress and identify delays, bottlenecks, and schedule risks proactively.
  • Conduct schedule analysis and prepare recovery plans to improve execution performance.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and client teams for alignment.
  • Perform critical path analysis, resource loading and productivity assessments.
  • Generate planning reports, dashboards, S-curves, look-ahead schedules, and management presentations.
  • Support forecasting of completion dates and assess schedule impacts of changes and risks.

Role & responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
  • Establish project baselines, milestones, critical paths, and progress measurement systems in alignment with project objectives.
  • Monitor project progress against approved schedules and proactively identify delays, bottlenecks, and schedule risks.
  • Conduct schedule analysis and prepare recovery plans to mitigate project delays and improve execution performance.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and client teams to ensure schedule alignment.
  • Perform critical path analysis, resource loading, and productivity assessments to support effective project execution.
  • Generate periodic planning reports, dashboards, S-curves, look-ahead schedules, and management presentations.
  • Support project management in forecasting completion dates and evaluating schedule impacts of changes and risks.
  • Analyze contractor schedules and monitor subcontractor performance against contractual milestones.
  • Support claims analysis, extension of time (EOT) assessments, and delay impact evaluations when required.
  • Ensure compliance with project planning procedures, project controls standards, and client reporting requirements.
  • Lead and mentor planning engineers while driving continuous improvement in planning and scheduling practices.
Preferred candidate profile
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Project Management or Construction Management will be preferred.
  • Primavera P6 certification, PMP, PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional), or equivalent certification is desirable.
  • 10-15 years of experience in Project Planning and Scheduling within Fertilizer, Petrochemical, Refinery, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Energy, or EPC projects.
