Job summary

Metalmeccanica India is seeking a Planning Engineer in Maharashtra to develop and manage project schedules, WBS, and activity plans. You will coordinate with engineering, procurement, fabrication, quality and dispatch teams to ensure timely execution and milestone achievement.

You will monitor fabrication progress, material availability, and manpower deployment while identifying delays and proposing corrective actions to keep projects on track. Strong CAD and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in engineering (Master's preferred) with relevant manufacturing exposure.
  • 3–5 years of manufacturing sector experience is required.
  • Proficient with CAD software and MS Office tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and leadership capabilities.
  • Capable of making decisions under pressure with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare project schedules, WBS, and activity plans.
  • Develop baseline schedules and monitor progress against targets.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, fabrication, quality and dispatch teams.
  • Track fabrication progress, materials, manpower, and production status.
  • Identify delays, critical activities, and resource constraints.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and updates.
  • Analyse variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor productivity, resource utilization, and project performance.
  • Coordinate with clients and project teams regarding milestones.
  • Support production and dispatch planning to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain planning records and schedule revisions.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements and company procedures.
  • Train team members within the work group.
  • Coordinate sub-contractors for day-to-day output.

Planning Engineer Requirements:
  • Bachelors diploma or Degree in engineering (Master's degree preferable).
  • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing Industry.
  • Experience with CAD software.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, production processes, procurement coordination, and project scheduling.
  • Experience in project planning, fabrication planning, manufacturing planning, or EPC projects preferred.
