Job summary

Gvpr Engineers is seeking a Project Planner to develop and manage the Master Project Schedule for civil, marine, structural, electrical and mechanical works on marine port projects. You will create baseline schedules, WBS, calendars and logic, and coordinate with PM and site teams.

You will monitor progress, compare planned vs actual, prepare weekly/monthly reports, and support delay analysis, EOT claims, and resource planning for dredging, piling, quay and yard works.

Qualifications

  • Experience in project planning for large civil/marine works.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Strong skills in schedule development, baselines and milestones.
  • Experience with EOT claims and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Master Project Schedule and detailed schedules for civil, marine, structural, electrical and mechanical works.
  • Establish milestones, WBS, calendars and logic relationships.
  • Coordinate planning with PM, Construction, QS/Commercial, Procurement and QA/QC.
  • Collect progress data and compare planned vs actual; produce weekly/monthly reports.
  • Identify delays, monitor critical path, and support EOT claims.
  • Plan manpower, equipment and material resources; coordinate marine assets.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly progress dashboards and reports.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Project Planning
  • Prepare the overall Master Project Schedule.
  • Develop detailed schedules for civil, marine, structural, electrical and mechanical works.
  • Establish project milestones and key activities.
Baseline Schedule
  • Prepare the approved baseline programme using Primavera P6 / MS Project.
  • Develop WBS, activity coding, calendars and logic relationships.
  • Establish planned start/finish dates and project milestones.
Marine & Port Works Planning
  • Plan activities such as:
    • Breakwater construction
    • Dredging and reclamation
    • Berth construction
    • Quay wall construction
    • Piling works
    • Jetty construction
    • Approach roads
    • Yard development
    • Drainage and utility works
  • Coordinate planning around tides, weather and marine working conditions.
Progress Monitoring
  • Collect daily/weekly progress from site teams.
  • Compare planned vs. actual progress.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
  • Monitor critical activities and milestones.
Delay Analysis
  • Identify delays and their impact on project completion.
  • Monitor the Critical Path and near-critical activities.
  • Prepare recovery programmes and mitigation plans.
  • Support Extension of Time (EOT) claims with proper schedule records.
Resource Planning
  • Plan manpower, equipment, materials and marine resources.
  • Monitor resource productivity.
  • Coordinate deployment of equipment such as dredgers, cranes, piling rigs, barges and other marine equipment.
Cost & Schedule Coordination
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Construction, QS/Commercial, Procurement and QA/QC teams.
  • Monitor planned quantities and progress against project targets.
  • Support earned value and productivity analysis where applicable.
Procurement & Material Tracking
  • Integrate procurement milestones into the project schedule.
  • Track engineering approvals, material procurement, manufacturing, delivery and site availability.
  • Identify material-related risks affecting the schedule.
Reporting
  • Prepare:
    • Daily progress reports
    • Weekly progress reports
    • Monthly MIS
    • S-curves
    • Look-ahead schedules
    • Progress dashboards
    • Manpower/equipment reports
    • Delay reports
Coordination
  • Conduct regular planning/progress meetings.
  • Coordinate with consultants, client representatives and subcontractors.
  • Follow up on pending approvals, drawings, inspections and site nt

  • Strong coordination and reporting skills
