Job summary

GMP Technical Solutions in Mumbai is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to support the planning and execution of international projects. You will prepare schedules, monitor progress, and coordinate with project teams to ensure activities are completed as per plan.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in Primavera P6 or MS Project, and background in MEP/HVAC/EPC or similar industrial projects, with willingness to travel to international project locations.

• 510 years of relevant experience in project planning and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules with PMs and site teams.
• Develop project plans, work schedules and timelines.
• Monitor progress and identify delays or deviations.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, site execution and other teams.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Track manpower, materials and resources against plan.
• Identify delays and highlight critical activities.
• Assist in recovery plans when behind schedule.
• Monitor milestones and update planning documents.
• Support delay analysis and project performance monitoring.
• Coordinate with international teams and stakeholders.

Planning Engineer International Projects

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Planning Engineer to join our Projects team and support the planning and execution of international projects.

The role will be responsible for preparing project schedules, monitoring project progress, coordinating with various project teams and ensuring that project activities are completed as per the planned schedule.

The ideal candidate should have good experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably from MEP/HVAC, EPC, industrial or similar engineering projects, along with hands-on experience in Primavera P6 or MS Project.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules in coordination with Project Managers and site teams.
• Develop project plans, work schedules and activity-wise timelines based on project requirements.
• Monitor actual progress against the approved project schedule and identify delays or deviations.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, site execution and other project teams for timely completion of activities.
• Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports for management review.
• Track manpower, material and other resources against the project plan.
• Identify potential delays and highlight critical activities to the project team.
• Assist in preparing recovery plans wherever project progress is behind schedule.
• Monitor project milestones and ensure timely completion of planned activities.
• Prepare and update S-curves, progress reports and other project planning documents.
• Support delay analysis, progress measurement and project performance monitoring.
• Coordinate with international project teams, consultants, clients and other stakeholders whenever required.
• Maintain proper planning records and ensure that project schedules are regularly updated.
• Assist the Project Manager in planning, monitoring and controlling project activities from start to completion.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's/Diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 510 years of relevant experience in project planning and scheduling.
• Experience in MEP, HVAC, EPC, industrial or engineering projects will be preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
• Good understanding of project scheduling, progress monitoring and project controls.
• Experience in manpower/resource planning and project reporting.
• Ability to understand project drawings, schedules and execution requirements.
• Good analytical and coordination skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple project teams.
• Experience working on international projects will be an advantage.
• Willingness to travel or work at international project locations as per project requirements.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates who have worked on large-scale MEP/HVAC, EPC, industrial or turnkey projects and have practical experience in project planning, scheduling and progress monitoring are preferred.

Experience with international clients, consultants or project teams will be an added advantage.
