Job summary

Othello Projects is seeking a Planning Engineer to plan, schedule, monitor, and report on real estate and construction projects to ensure timely execution against approved programmes, milestones and budgets.

You will prepare and maintain detailed schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project, develop baselines, and coordinate with engineering, procurement, design and site teams to ensure realistic activity durations and dependencies. Proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Excel preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning, scheduling and monitoring complex real estate/construction projects.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Ability to prepare progress reports and dashboards.
• Knowledge of baseline schedules and recovery programmes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
• Develop WBS, baseline programmes, activity sequencing, logic networks, and resource loading.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, procurement, contracts, QS, design and site teams.
• Monitor planned versus actual progress and identify delays and critical activities.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports and MIS for project and management review.
• Track critical path, milestones and major deliverables and highlight schedule risks.
• Prepare 2-week/3-week/4-week look-ahead schedules and coordinate with site teams for execution.
• Analyse delays and root causes and assist in recovery programmes and catch-up plans.
• Coordinate procurement and material delivery schedules with construction requirements to avoid work-front constraints.
• Review contractor/subcontractor programmes and monitor their progress against the approved project schedule.
• Conduct progress review meetings, record action points and follow up on commitments.
• Update schedules based on site measurements, drawings, BOQs, work fronts and actual execution status.
• Assist in manpower, material, equipment and resource planning for achievement of project milestones.
• Maintain baseline schedules, schedule revisions, progress records, forecasts and planning documentation.
• Support project management in completion forecasting, delay analysis, schedule risk identification and mitigation planning.
• Identify opportunities for improving sequencing, productivity and resource utilization without compromising quality or safety.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors for schedule-related inputs and ensure timely resolution of planning issues.

• Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
• Develop WBS, baseline programmes, activity sequencing, logic networks, resource loading and project execution schedules.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, procurement, contracts, QS, design and site teams to establish realistic activity durations and dependencies.
• Monitor planned versus actual progress and identify delays, slippages, critical and near-critical activities.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards and MIS for project and management review.
