Job Description

Pharmacist is responsible for the safe and accurate dispensing, storage, distribution, and management of medicines within the centre. The includes prescription verification, medication dispensing, inventory management, patient counselling, documentation, and coordination with doctors and nursing teams.

• Review prescriptions and medication orders before dispensing.
• Verify medicine name, strength, dosage, quantity, and expiry date.
• Dispense medicines according to authorized prescriptions.
• Provide appropriate medication-related information to patients and attendants.
• Maintain adequate stock of medicines and pharmacy supplies.
• Monitor medicine expiry dates and storage conditions.
• Ensure medicines are stored and handled according to applicable requirements.
• Maintain records of medicines received, dispensed, returned, and transferred.
• Handle controlled and restricted medicines according to applicable procedures.
• Conduct stock verification and inventory reconciliation.
• Identify shortages, damaged medicines, and near-expiry products.
• Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff regarding medication requirements.
• Assist with procurement and replenishment of medicines.
• Monitor medication-related queries and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Support medication-safety initiatives.
• Maintain pharmacy registers, reports, and documentation.
• Participate in pharmacy audits and quality-improvement activities.
