Job summary

Chemplast Sanmar Limited is seeking a Personnel specialist to lead end-to-end IR and HR operations at our Berigai plant. With 8-10 years of total experience in manufacturing IR, you will manage grievances, labour relations, and compliance.

The role requires strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and ability to coordinate time office, payroll inputs, and safety initiatives with the EHS team. MBA/MSW in HR preferred, with IR certification.

Qualifications

  • MBA/MSW with HR focus or equivalent.
  • 8–10 years total experience in IR in manufacturing.
  • Experience with contract labour and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with plant HR operations and safety alignment.

Job description

We have an opportunity for Personnel role for our plant located at Berigai location.

Looking for candidates with 8 - 10 years of total experience, handling IR activities in manufacturing industry.

Role Purpose

To manage end-to-end Personnel and Industrial Relations (IR) functions at the plant, ensuring harmonious employee relations, statutory compliance, contract labour management and efficient workforce management aligned with organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities
1. Industrial Relations (IR) Management
  • Sensing, monitoring and address employee grievances and disciplinary actions
  • Manage and Liaise with labour authorities and government officials and their factory inspections
2. Contract Labour, NAPS, NATS & Flexi Workforce Management
  • Manage contract labour/NAPS/NATS budget, deployment and compliances control
  • Ensure adherence to CLRA Act and other related and applicable labour laws
  • Monitor manpower planning, attendance, shift deployment and manage to address the gaps
  • Coordinate with contractors for workforce availability, flexibility in work and productivity improvements
3. Statutory Compliance
  • Ensure compliances with prevailing labour laws and applicable labour codes applicable to the factory
  • Maintaining, updating and filing statutory registers, records, returns and readiness of Internal, Interplant and External statutory audit
  • Handling incidents at the factory, subsequent inspections, reply to the inspection reports and manage the show cause notices etc.,
4. Employee Welfare & Engagement
  • Drive employee welfare initiatives (canteen, transport, medical facilities, etc.)
  • Organize engagement activities to enhance employee morale
  • Address workplace issues impacting productivity and retention
5. Time Office & Payroll Inputs
  • Oversee time office operations, attendance, leave management, absenteeism controls and attrition reduction
  • Validate payroll inputs for plant employees
  • Ensure accuracy in wage calculations and compliance
6. Safety & Discipline
  • Ensure adherence to safety norms in coordination with EHS team
  • Enforce discipline and workplace conduct policies
  • Participate in safety committees and audits
  • Strong Industrial Relations (IR) expertise under non-unionised environment
  • Thorough and updated knowledge of labour laws / labour codes and compliance
  • Stakeholder management (Employees, Internal Customers, Management and Authorities)
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Operational HR exposure in plant environment
  • Good communication, reporting and documentation skills
  • High integrity and problem-solving ability
Educational Qualification
  • MBA / MSW – Human Resources / Personnel Management
  • Additional certification in Labour Laws / IR (preferred)
Preferred Industry Background
  • Chemical / Manufacturing / Heavy Engineering industries
  • Experience handling large blue-collar workforce\
