Job summary

  • 15–25 years HR experience in auto-component/manufacturing.
  • Exposure to wage settlements and union management.
  • Strong knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance.
  • Experience in unionized manufacturing environments preferred.

  • Develop and implement the HR strategy aligned with business and plant objectives.
  • Manage manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding and workforce productivity.
  • Lead Talent Management, Performance Management and Succession Planning.
  • Drive Learning & Development, capability building and leadership development.
  • Manage employee engagement, retention and organizational culture initiatives.
  • Handle compensation, benefits and HR policies in line with business requirements.
  • Drive HR analytics, HR dashboards and manpower cost optimization.
  • Partner with business leaders on organization restructuring and change management.
  • Ensure effective implementation of HR systems, attendance and payroll systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, statutory requirements and company policies.
  • Manage Industrial Relations across the manufacturing plant.
  • Maintain effective relationships with workmen, unions and employee representatives.
  • Handle disciplinary matters, grievances, domestic enquiries and employee disputes.
  • Monitor absenteeism, attrition, productivity and shop-floor employee relations.
  • Develop strategies for maintaining a stable and harmonious industrial environment.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, standing orders and statutory requirements.
  • Work closely with Plant Head, Operations and Production teams to resolve shop-floor issues.
  • Build a proactive IR framework to minimize disruptions and improve workforce productivity.

Job description

Lead the HR function for a manufacturing plant business, with a strong focus on HR and Industrial Relations, driving workforce productivity, employee engagement, talent management and statutory compliance.

Preferred Experience

  • Proven experience in wage settlements, union management and grievance handling.
  • Experience in Greenfield/Brownfield projects would be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of labour laws and statutory compliance.
