Job summary

Mobileum is seeking a performance test engineer in Bengaluru to conduct extensive telecom performance testing across 2G/3G/5G protocols. You will design, implement, and automate test scenarios using tools like JMeter, Seagull, and SIPp, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize systems at scale.

The candidate should have 4–7 years of telecom performance testing experience, strong scripting skills in Python or Shell, and familiarity with Kubernetes/Docker and Cloudera/Hadoop

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech or M.Sc in Computer Science or related field.
• 4-7 years of experience in performance testing within the telecom industry.
• Proficiency with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Seagull, SIPp or 2G/3G/5G simulators.
• Strong understanding of telecom protocols like Diameter, SS7, LTE/VoLTE, SIP, TCP/IP, 5G.
• Experience with virtualized environments and containers like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and JIRA for defect tracking.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive performance test plans, scripts, and scenarios using JMeter, Seagull, SIPp.
• Prepare and manage large-scale test data relevant to telecom network and application scenarios.
• Monitor and analyze key performance metrics during test execution.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and work with development teams to optimize.
• Generate detailed performance reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Script and automate performance test scenarios for reusability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the performance testing lifecycle.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices for performance testing in telecom.

Roles & Responsibility:

• Conduct various types of performance testing, including load, stress, spike, endurance, and scalability, on telecom protocols and applications.
• Develop and execute comprehensive performance test plans, scripts, and scenarios using tools such as JMeter, Seagull, and SIPp.
• Prepare and manage large-scale test data relevant to telecom network and application scenarios.
• Monitor and analyze key performance metrics (response times, throughput, resource utilization) during test execution.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and work with development teams to implement optimization techniques.
• Generate detailed performance reports and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Script and automate performance test scenarios, ensuring reusability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, QA, operations) throughout the performance testing lifecycle.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices for performance testing within the telecom domain.

Desired Profile: -

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• 4-7 years of experience in performance testing within telecom industry.
• Proficiency with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Seagull, SIPp or any 2G/3G/5G simulator
• Strong understanding of telecom protocols (e.g., Diameter, SS7, LTE/VoLTE, SIP,TCP/IP, 5G).
• Experience with virtualized and containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Exposure to Cloudera/Hadoop ecosystem for handling big data workloads and validating performance at scale.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Shell for test automation and log analysis.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and JIRA for defect tracking.
