10+ years of experience in Telecom Product Engineering, System Engineering, or related role.
Strong experience in requirements analysis and specification development.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Excellent written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills.
Mobile Networks: 4G EPC, 5G Core, IMS, VoLTE, VoWiFi.
Telecom Protocols: Diameter, SIP, SS7, MAP, CAMEL, HTTP/REST.
Telecom functions: PCRF/PCF, OCS, HSS/UDM, AMF, SMF, UPF, Roaming Platforms.

Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, and clarify requirements from Product Management, Customers, Sales, Pre-Sales, Professional Services, and Engineering teams.
Convert high-level business requirements into detailed Functional Requirement Documents (FRD).
Define and document functional, non-functional, performance, scalability, HA, security, deployment, and upgrade requirements.
Develop detailed use cases, call flows, workflows, sequence diagrams, and acceptance criteria.
Ensure requirements are complete, testable, and implementation-ready.
Analyze new feature requests and product enhancements to define system behavior and impacts.
Collaborate with Engineering during solution discussions and feature reviews to reduce ambiguity.
Define acceptance criteria and validation requirements; review test coverage with QE teams.
Bridge between Product Management, Engineering, QE, Sales, and Customer-facing teams; participate in roadmap planning.
Create and maintain Functional Requirement Documents, Feature Specifications, Use Cases and diagrams; maintain traceability.

About the Job:

We are looking for an experienced System Engineer to join our Engineering organization and act as a bridge between Product Management, Customer-facing teams, and Product Engineering.

The System Engineer will be responsible for translating business and customer requirements into detailed, implementation-ready specifications that can be directly consumed by Development and Quality Engineering teams. The role requires strong telecom domain expertise, systems thinking, product understanding, and exceptional analytical and documentation skills.

The successful candidate will own the end-to-end requirements engineering process and ensure all functional, non-functional, deployment, operational, and customer requirements are clearly defined before development begins.

Requirements Engineering

Gather, analyze, and clarify requirements from Product Management, Customers, Sales, Pre-Sales, Professional Services, and Engineering teams.
Convert high-level business requirements into detailed Functional Requirement Documents (FRD).
Define and document functional, non-functional, performance, scalability, High Availability, security, operational, deployment, and upgrade requirements.
Develop detailed use cases, call flows, workflows, sequence diagrams, and acceptance criteria.
Ensure requirements are complete, testable, and implementation-ready.

System Analysis & Feature Definition

Analyze new feature requests and product enhancements.
Understand end-to-end system behavior across multiple applications and platforms.
Identify impacts across product components and external dependencies.
Define expected system behavior for normal, failure, and edge‑case scenarios.
Collaborate with Engineering teams during solution discussions and feature reviews.
Ensure requirements provide sufficient detail for Development and QE teams to implement features with minimal ambiguity.

Quality Engineering & Validation Support

Define acceptance criteria and feature validation requirements.
Identify positive, negative, and edge-case scenarios.
Review test coverage against documented requirements.
Work closely with Quality Engineering teams to ensure requirements are adequately validated.
Support customer acceptance testing and feature sign‑off activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Act as a bridge between Product Management, Engineering, QE, Sales, Pre‑Sales, and Customer‑facing teams.
Participate in requirement clarification discussions and product roadmap planning.
Support engineering teams in understanding business context and customer expectations.
Provide technical guidance and clarification throughout the product development lifecycle.
Assist in customer discussions, technical workshops, and escalation reviews when required.

Documentation & Governance

Create and maintain Functional Requirement Documents, Feature Specifications, Use Cases, Call Flows, Sequence Diagrams, Acceptance Criteria, and Deployment and Operational Requirements.
Conduct requirement reviews and walkthroughs with all stake holders.
Maintain requirement traceability throughout the product lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications

10+ years of experience in Telecom Product Engineering, System Engineering, Technical Product Management, Solution Architecture, Development engineering or a related role.
Strong experience in requirements analysis and specification development.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Excellent written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills.
