Job summary

Sun Pharma is seeking a packaging operator to support primary and secondary packaging activities for Oral Solid Dosage products in line with cGMP and SOPs. You will operate blister, bottle, cartoning, labeling, and serialization equipment, perform changeovers, and ensure line clearance and quality documentation.

Role emphasizes adherence to safety guidelines, proper machine setup, and timely packaging operations with accurate record-keeping and collaboration with the production team.

Qualifications

• Experience operating OSD packaging lines per SOPs and BPRs.
• Adhere to cGMP, GDP, and data integrity requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor OSD packaging equipment per SOPs.
• Prepare machine start-up, operation, and shut-down.
• Conduct in-process checks and reconcile packaging components.
• Record production data and report deviations.

Job description

To perform and support primary and secondary packaging activities of Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) products in compliance with cGMP requirements, approved procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines to ensure timely and error-free packaging operations.

Key Responsibilities

Packaging Operations

• Operate and monitor OSD packaging equipment such as:
• Blister Packing Machines
• Bottle Packing Lines
• Cartoning Machines
• Check Weighers
• Labeling Machines
• Serialization & Aggregation Systems
• Perform packaging activities as per Batch Packaging Record (BPR) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure proper machine setup, start-up, operation, and shutdown activities.
• Carry out product changeovers and machine adjustments as per approved procedures.
• Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities to supervisors.

GMP & Compliance

• Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), GDP, and Data Integrity requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of packaging areas and equipment.
• Ensure line clearance before commencement and after completion of packaging activities.
• Adhere to approved packaging specifications and artwork controls.
• Prevent mix-ups, cross-contamination, and labeling errors.

Documentation

• Complete packaging records, logbooks, equipment usage records, and production documents accurately.
• Record production output, downtime, machine stoppages, and reconciliations.
• Report deviations, incidents, and operational issues promptly.
• Support investigations and corrective actions when required.

Quality and Productivity

• Conduct in-process checks as per procedures.
• Verify materials, labels, cartons, leaflets, and packaging components before use.
• Ensure reconciliation of printed packaging materials and finished goods.
• Achieve production targets with minimum wastage and downtime.
• Support continuous improvement activities for enhanced efficiency.

Equipment Maintenance

• Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance of packaging equipment.
• Report machine breakdowns and coordinate with the engineering team.
• Ensure equipment is in qualified and calibrated status before use.
