Job description

The OSD Packing Technician will be responsible for supporting packing operations for oral solid dosage products such as tablets and capsules. This involves operating packing equipment, handling packaging materials, checking batch details, maintaining documentation, and following GMP and safety procedures. The candidate will ensure accurate packing, proper material segregation, minimal wastage, and smooth coordination with production, QA, warehouse, and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

• Operate OSD packing machines as per approved SOPs and packing instructions.
• Perform blister packing, bottle packing, labeling, cartoning, sealing, and related packing activities.
• Verify packaging materials, labels, cartons, foils, batch numbers, and product details before use.
• Support line clearance activities before startup, during changeover, and after batch completion.
• Monitor packing output, machine performance, coding, sealing quality, and product appearance.
• Record packing details, material usage, machine readings, and batch documentation accurately.
• Report packing defects, material mismatches, machine breakdowns, or process deviations to supervisors.
• Follow GMP, hygiene, safety, and contamination prevention practices during packing operations.
• Handle packaging materials carefully to prevent wastage, mix-ups, and product damage.
• Assist in machine cleaning, area cleaning, setup, changeover, and basic troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with QA, warehouse, production, and maintenance teams when required.
• Ensure proper segregation of accepted, rejected, returned, and unused packaging materials.
• Follow PPE requirements and safe machine operating practices at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness, discipline, and housekeeping across assigned packing lines.
• Complete assigned packing targets within defined timelines and quality requirements.
