Job summary

Sun Pharma is seeking an OSD Packing Operator to operate and monitor packing machines for tablets and capsules at Palasbari, Assam. You will set up lines, ensure correct materials, and maintain high GMP standards on a day-to-day basis.

The role requires strict adherence to SOPs, in-process checks, and accurate batch documentation, with responsibilities spanning equipment operation, maintenance support, and 5S/GMP-compliant packing conditions.

Qualifications

• Follow GMP, SOPs, and safety guidelines strictly.
• Perform inprocess checks (leak test, visual inspection, coding verification).
• Identify and report deviations, breakdowns, or quality issues immediately.
• Ensure proper batch documentation and logbook entries.

The OSD Packing Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining packing machines used for oral solid dosage forms such as tablets and capsules.

Key Responsibilities

Packing Operations

• Operate packing equipment such as blister packing machines, strip packing machines, bottle packing lines, and cartoners
• Set up machines for different product sizes and formats
• Perform line clearance before start and after completion of batches
• Ensure correct packing materials (foil, PVC, bottles, cartons, labels) are used as per BMR/BPR

Quality & Compliance

• Follow GMP, SOPs, and safety guidelines strictly
• Perform inprocess checks (leak test, visual inspection, coding verification)
• Identify and report deviations, breakdowns, or quality issues immediately
• Ensure proper batch documentation and logbook entries

Equipment & Maintenance

• Clean packing machines per approved SOPs
• Assist maintenance team during minor troubleshooting
• Maintain cleanliness of packing area as per 5S and GMP requirements

Documentation

• Complete batch packing records accurately and in real time
• Record downtime, breakdowns, and material reconciliation
• Support QA during audits and inspections
