Job summary

CSG Systems in Bengaluru, India seeks an experienced Mainframe Operations professional with 5+ years to lead batch operations, manage incidents, and improve reliability. You will work across CA-7, TWS/OPC/IZWS, JCL, and related tools, guiding junior engineers and coordinating with development teams.

This role requires flexibility for weekend support and outside-hour coverage to ensure operational continuity of critical initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a technically related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience; strong experience in Mainframe Batch Operations and scheduling tools (CA-7, TWS/OPC/IZWS).
• Strong knowledge of JCL, SDSF, ISPF, CA7, TWS/OPC/IZWS, VSAM, Cobol and troubleshooting batch abends.
• Ability to represent ops teams in crisis calls and provide batch status updates.

Responsibilities

• May lead design and implementation of operational strategies including system architecture and infrastructure planning.
• Proactively identify areas for system improvement, automation, and optimization.
• Manage and resolve critical incidents, conduct post-incident analysis, and drive long-term reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure best practices for deploying and maintaining software applications.
• Act as a subject matter expert in system reliability and provide training to junior engineers.
• Represent ops teams in crisis calls and provide batch status updates.
• May involve periodic weekend support and flexibility to work outside standard business hours.
