Job summary

Sopra Steria Group is seeking a Mainframe Production Support Module Lead to manage production support, bug fixes and batch tasks. The role requires 4–6 years of experience, with strong COBOL, JCL and batch handling skills.

The candidate will monitor batch jobs and assist in incident resolution, while participating in deployment activities. The assignment includes 24x7 rotational shifts across Europe and India.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in mainframe production support.
• Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL and IBM mainframe basics.
• Experience with batch processing and Abend handling.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support and fix bugs for mainframe batches.
• Monitor and support batch jobs and job spool processes.
• Resolve assigned batch tickets and coordinate fixes.
• Analyze batch incidents and report findings to stakeholders.
• Participate in implementation activities and related tasks.
• Willingness to work 24x7 rotational shifts (Europe/India).

Job Description

Role: Mainframe Production Support Module Lead.

Shifts: 24X7 Rotational Shifts

Experience: 04-06 years

Job Description: Responsible for Production support, bug fixing and deliver assigned tasks as per predefined timelines and quality standards.

• Must have working knowledge on: COBOL, JCL, Job spool, File and Abend handling
• Monitor and support the batch
• Work on the resolution of assigned batch tickets
• Analysis and reporting of possible batch incidents
• Handle ad-hoc requests for Service status or one-time information retrieval/reports
• Participate in implementation activities
• Ability to multi-tasking and proactive learning

Should be willing to work in 24 * 7 rotational Europe/India shift.

Good to have skills:

• Awareness of planner applications or job schedulers like control-M
• Awareness of mainframe abends
• Awareness of DB2 database
• Awareness of Incident/Problem management tools (Jira, Service now, Confluence or any other tool etc.)

Qualifications

BE, B-Tech, MCA or equivalent
