PeopleStrong is seeking a packaging operator to set up and run primary packaging lines in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. You will calibrate equipment, monitor quality, and ensure materials are loaded correctly to meet daily production goals.
Responsibilities include maintaining SOP compliance, performing line clearances and cleaning, and documenting batch records in real time. Safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement are essential to minimize scrap and downtime.
Machine Setup & Line Preparation: Set up, calibrate, and adjust primary packaging machinery (e.g., fillers, blister packers, pouch sealers, bottling lines) according to specific product run sheets and batch records.
Equipment Operation: Run automated or semi-automated primary packaging equipment efficiently to meet production schedules while maintaining line speed and output goals.
In-Line Quality Monitoring: Perform regular physical quality checks—including seal integrity tests, fill weights, leak tests, and print clarity—to ensure compliance with product specifications.
Material Handling & Loading: Keep packaging machinery continuously supplied with primary materials such as foils, films, bottles, caps, labels, and raw product.
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Compliance: Adhere strictly to industry regulations, including Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), and company safety protocols.
Line Clearance & Cleaning: Perform thorough line clearances, cleanups, and sanitization of contact parts between product batches to prevent cross-contamination.
Batch Documentation: Complete batch execution records, logbooks, and quality control documentation accurately and in real-time, detailing production yields, downtime, and material usage.
Basic Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Identify minor mechanical faults, clear jam-ups, adjust sensors, and perform routine preventative maintenance (lubrication, part replacements) to minimize downtime.
Defect Control & Material Reconciliation: Detect, reject, and report defective packaging or product off the line, ensuring proper reconciliation and disposal of waste materials.
Safety & Continuous Improvement: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workplace (5S principles) while participating in continuous improvement efforts to optimize line efficiency and minimize scrap.
