Job summary

Medopharm in Tamil Nadu seeks a hands-on Packing Supervisor to oversee day-to-day pharmaceutical packing operations and ensure batches are completed as per plan.

You will supervise primary and secondary packing, verify materials, labels, coding, and ensure GMP, SOPs, and line clearance protocols are followed.

This role coordinates with QA, Production, Warehouse and Engineering, manages manpower, monitors productivity and deviations, and supports CAPA and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in pharmaceutical packing operations is required.
• Knowledge of GMP and SOP requirements for packing.
• Experience coordinating with QA and production teams.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day pharmaceutical packing operations as per the production plan.
• Supervise primary and secondary packing activities and ensure timely completion of batches.
• Ensure packing operations are carried out as per GMP, SOPs, and approved packing instructions.
• Handle packing machines, equipment, and line clearance activities.
• Ensure correct packing materials, batch details, labels, and coding are used.
• Verify packing materials and finished products to avoid mix-ups and reconciliation errors.
• Maintain and review BPR, packing records, and other relevant documentation.
• Monitor packing output, productivity, wastage, and machine downtime.
• Ensure proper line clearance before and after packing activities.
• Coordinate with QA, Production, Warehouse, and Engineering departments.
• Ensure proper manpower allocation and supervise packing operators/workers.
• Follow safety, hygiene, housekeeping, and GMP requirements in the packing area.
• Report deviations, breakdowns, quality issues, and other abnormalities to the concerned department.
• Support investigations, CAPA, change controls, and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure packing targets are achieved while maintaining product quality and compliance.
