Job summary

Veerayatan in Palitana seeks an experienced Operations Manager to lead the pre-opening and daily operations of Gautam Vihar, a 40-room retreat. You will oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, Dining Hall, and more while ensuring Jain traditions are observed.

The role requires strong guest-service skills, cost control, and the ability to coordinate with vendors and staff to deliver a premium hospitality experience for leisure guests, groups, and pilgrims.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel, resort, guest house, or hospitality operations.
• Experience in pre-opening, events, or group operations.
• Strong leadership and guest-service skills.
• Ability to manage a property independently and own operations.
• Familiarity with Jain dietary principles is a plus.
• Willingness to work in Jain traditions and practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the overall pre-opening and complete operations of the retreat.
• Manage Front Office, Housekeeping, Dining Hall, Maintenance, Security, and other operational functions.
• Plan and coordinate group bookings, functions, and special events with teams concerned.
• Develop and implement SOPs, operational checklists, service standards, and systems for the new property.
• Ensure the dining hall operates in accordance with Jain dietary principles.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate the operational team.
• Ensure high standards of guest satisfaction, cleanliness, hygiene, grooming, and service quality.
• Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally and ensure timely resolution.
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and external agencies for smooth operations.
• Monitor inventory, operational expenses, and departmental budgets while maintaining cost efficiency and submit daily and monthly MIS reports.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory, safety, hygiene, and operational requirements.

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to oversee the pre-opening and day-to-day operations of Gautam Vihar, a 40-room retreat at Veerayatan (an internationally renowned NGO), Palitana. The property set to be launched shortly, will include a dining hall offering Jain food, large, landscaped gardens and will cater to leisure guests, groups and pilgrims.

The quality of accommodation matches a four star property.

The ideal candidate should have strong operational expertise, excellent guest-handling skills, and the ability to manage a property while ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with Jain traditions, values, and practices.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum 58 years of relevant experience in hotel, resort, guest house, or hospitality operations.
• Prior experience in pre-opening, event, banquet, wedding, or group operations will be an advantage.
• Well versed with Front Office, Housekeeping and F&B operations.
• Excellent leadership, team-management, communication, and guest-handling skills.
• Ability to independently manage a property and take ownership of operational responsibilities.
• Strong planning, problem-solving, and coordination abilities.
• Experience in maintaining service standards while controlling operational costs.
• Candidates with experience in spiritual/religious hospitality or properties following specific dietary/cultural practices will be preferred.
• Should have a respectful understanding of and willingness to work in accordance with Jain traditions and practices.

Note

• Staff accommodation for the Operations Manager will be provided within the retreat campus.
• Knowledge of Hindi and Gujarati will be added advantage.
