Job summary

Avis Hospitals India seeks an OT Technician to manage the operating theatre before, during, and after procedures. You will ensure OT readiness, operate equipment such as anaesthesia machines and C-ARM, and coordinate sterilization and infection control under NABH guidelines.

The role requires GNMs, BSc Nursing or Diploma in OT Technology with valid state registration and experience in OT/ICU/Cath Lab environments. On-site work in Pune, with patient safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• GNM, BSc Nursing or Diploma in OT Technology is required.
• Valid State Nursing Council Registration is required.
• Experience in OT, ICU, Cath Lab, or Surgical Ward is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the Operation Theatre before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Ensure proper functioning of OT equipment including anaesthesia machines and C-ARM.
• Coordinate OT fumigation, sterilization, and infection control activities.
• Check and arrange surgical instruments, implants, medicines, and consumables before surgery.
• Assist surgeons and anaesthesiologists during surgeries by providing instruments, medications, IV fluids, and blood products.
• Maintain OT registers and nursing documentation as per NABH standards.

Role & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the Operation Theatre before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Ensure proper functioning of OT equipment, including anaesthesia machines, ventilators, suction units, monitors, C-ARM, and other surgical equipment.
• Conduct regular checks and physical verification of OT equipment and report any maintenance requirements.
• Verify the functionality of anaesthesia machines and breathing systems before every procedure.
• Ensure availability of oxygen, suction, centralized oxygen piping, and other essential OT utilities.
• Maintain OT temperature, humidity, and environmental conditions as per hospital protocols.
• Ensure proper functioning of scavenging systems for safe removal of anaesthetic gases.
• Coordinate OT fumigation, sterilization, and infection control activities.
• Check and arrange all surgical instruments, implants, medicines, and consumables before surgery.
• Prepare OT trolleys and surgical sets for vascular, endovascular, and other surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons and anaesthesiologists during surgeries by providing instruments, medications, IV fluids, blood products, and procedural support.
• Operate and assist with C-ARM during surgical procedures.
• Safely transfer patients between the ward, OT, and recovery area.
• Monitor patients during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.
• Maintain OT registers, nursing documentation, and equipment records.
• Follow NABH standards, infection control protocols, and patient safety guidelines.

Eligibility

• GNM, B.Sc Nursing or Diploma in OT Technology.
• Valid State Nursing Council Registration.
• OT, ICU, Cath Lab, or Surgical Ward experience preferred.
