Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of all Operation Theatres (OTs).
  • Plan and coordinate the OT schedule with surgeons, anesthetists, nursing staff and other departments.
  • Ensure OT readiness before every procedure, including instruments, equipment, consumables and emergency supplies.
  • Supervise OT technicians, nurses, attendants and support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control protocols.
  • Monitor sterilization, disinfection and CSSD coordination.
  • Maintain availability and inventory of OT drugs, surgical consumables, implants and instruments.
  • Ensure NABH and hospital quality standards compliance.
  • Track OT utilization, cancellations, delays and turnaround time, and prepare MIS reports.
  • Handle emergencies, operational issues and staff shortages effectively.
  • Conduct staff training, orientation and competency assessments.
  • Adhere to hospital SOPs, policies and safety protocols.

  • NABH-accredited hospital experience will be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of OT protocols, infection control, sterilization and surgical safety standards.
  • Good understanding of OT equipment, instruments, consumables and inventory management.
  • Excellent team handling, coordination and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of OT documentation, checklists, SOPs and MIS reporting.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with surgeons, anesthetists, nursing staff, CSSD and support departments.
  • Strong focus on patient safety, quality and operational efficiency.
