Job summary

Maxivision Eye Hospital in Mumbai seeks an OT support role to prepare and manage the Operation Theatre for scheduled procedures. You will assist surgeons and nursing staff, handle instrument sterilization, and ensure equipment readiness and safety throughout the day.

The position requires meticulous adherence to hospital protocols, infection control, and accurate documentation, supporting smooth OT turnover between procedures in a busy ophthalmic department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the Operation Theatre before scheduled procedures and ensure all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available.
• Assist surgeons, ophthalmologists, and nursing staff during surgical procedures as directed.
• Ensure proper handling, cleaning, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Assist with pre-operative and post-operative OT preparation.
• Check the availability and functionality of OT equipment before procedures.
• Maintain adequate stock of surgical consumables, instruments, and other OT supplies.
• Follow strict infection-control, sterilization, and safety protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the Operation Theatre and associated areas.
• Assist in shifting and positioning patients safely as instructed by the clinical team.
• Support the proper disposal of biomedical waste as per hospital guidelines.
• Maintain OT-related registers, checklists, and documentation accurately.
• Coordinate with nursing, housekeeping, CSSD, and other departments for smooth OT operations.
• Ensure timely preparation and turnover of the OT between procedures.
• Report any equipment malfunction, stock shortage, or safety concern to the concerned supervisor.
• Adhere to hospital policies, SOPs, and quality standards at all times.
