Job summary

Licious in Bengaluru is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee end-to-end operations of our mutton slaughterhouse and processing facility, ensuring smooth production, on-time fulfillment and strict food safety, quality and hygiene standards.

You will lead supervisors, butchers, and support staff, optimize throughput and yield, manage costs, maintain cold-chain and traceability, and collaborate with Quality, Maintenance and Supply Chain teams to keep the plant audit-ready.

Qualifications

• 56 years of experience in plant/factory operations.
• Hands-on experience in a slaughterhouse or meat-processing facility is preferred/required.
• Strong understanding of production planning, manpower management and shop-floor operations.
• Experience in improving throughput, yield, productivity and cost efficiency.
• Good understanding of food safety, quality and hygiene standards. Strong people-management and problem-solving skills.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
• Kannada-speaking candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end operations covering livestock receiving, slaughtering, deboning, trimming, processing, packing, chilling/freezing and dispatch.
• Plan production based on retail and wholesale requirements and ensure timely order fulfilment.
• Identify production bottlenecks and improve line efficiency, throughput and manpower productivity.
• Monitor and improve meat yield, while reducing wastage during cutting and trimming.
• Manage and optimize costs across manpower, packaging, utilities, consumables and maintenance.
• Ensure the plant follows food safety, hygiene and statutory requirements and remains audit-ready.
• Maintain cold-chain, FIFO, batch management and product traceability standards.
• Ensure the factory, machinery and production areas are clean, safe and operational.
• Lead supervisors, butchers, production workers and sanitation teams and ensure effective manpower deployment.
• Build a strong safety culture, especially around sharp tools, machinery and wet-floor hazards.
• Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain and other teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
