Job summary

Licious in Bengaluru is recruiting a Procurement Specialist to lead sourcing and vendor lifecycle for fresh meat, eggs, and dairy categories. You will visit markets, assess suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor pricing, quality, and supply continuity.

You will collaborate with operations and QA teams to ensure a strict cold chain from slaughter to delivery, manage shortages, and build strong supplier relationships across the Bangalore market.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in sourcing/procurement, preferably in fresh food, meat, eggs, poultry, dairy or FMCG.
• Strong product and market knowledge, especially in red meat.
• Understanding of seasonality, demand, pricing and supply availability in the Bangalore market.

Responsibilities

• Visit local livestock markets and regional mandis to evaluate, select, and check availability and price.
• Identify, vet and onboard meat processing vendors and slaughterhouses meeting standards; conduct audits.
• Maintain real-time oversight of carcass yields, meat quality and processing efficiency with QA team.
• Coordinate with operations to ensure strict cold chain from slaughter to delivery.
• Analyze protein market trends to negotiate contracts and day-to-day pricing.

What makes the role meaty?

Procurement & Market Visits:

Visiting local livestock markets and regional mandis to evaluate, select, and check the availability, price and make sure the vendor supplies the healthy Carcass.

Identifying, vetting, and onboarding meat processing vendors and slaughterhouses that meet the company's precise standard specifications. This includes conducting regular field and plant audits to ensure structural hygiene and protocol compliance.

Quality and Yield Monitoring:

Maintaining real‑time oversight of carcass yields, meat quality and processing efficiency alongside the quality Assurance (QA) team.

Cold Chain Logistics Support:

Coordinating with operations teams to manage the perishable product pipeline, ensuring a strict cold chain is maintained from slaughter to delivery to minimize rejections.

Price Negotiation & Cost Control:

Analyzing protein market trends and seasonal availability to negotiate structural contracts and day‑to‑day spot pricing
