Job summary

EDGE Executive Search is seeking an experienced IP Network Engineer to join our Network Operations team in India. You will handle alarm analysis, fault management, troubleshooting, and implement change requests across a multi-vendor IP infrastructure.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, knowledge of OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and CISCO architectures, and a willingness to work a 24x7 rotational shift to ensure MTTR and SLA adherence.

Qualifications

• Strong IP networking knowledge across OSPF, ISIS, BGP and MPLS.
• Experience with CISCO spine-leaf/border-leaf architectures.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage ITSM ticket queues to maintain MTTR and SLA compliance.
• Perform alarm analysis, O&M, and change request implementation on IP nodes (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Security Gateways).
• Identify root causes for incidents and recommend resolution actions.
• Act as first point of contact for alarm, event and KPI-related issues.
• Collaborate with field teams for hardware failures and node unreachable scenarios.
• Conduct node health checks and troubleshooting.
• Handle 3PP/OEM escalations and customer governance.
• Proactively detect potential failures to prevent incidents.

The Job

We are looking for an experienced IP Network Engineer to join our Network Operations team, responsible for alarm analysis, fault management, troubleshooting, and change request implementation across a multi-vendor IP infrastructure.

• Monitor and manage ITSM ticket queues to maintain MTTR and SLA compliance
• Perform alarm analysis, O&M, and change request implementation on IP nodes (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Security Gateways)
• Identify root causes for P0/P1/P2/P3/P4 incidents and recommend resolution actions
• Act as first point of contact for alarm, event & KPI-related issues
• Collaborate with field teams for hardware failures and node unreachable scenarios
• Conduct node health checks, backups & deviation troubleshooting
• Handle 3PP/OEM escalations, problem management & customer governance
• Proactively detect potential failures to ensure incident avoidance
• Support MIR & CSR reporting to respective teams

Your Profile

• Good knowledge in IP Networking Protocols like OSPF, ISIS, BGP, BGP-LU, MPLS, Inter-AS, LDP, RSVP, TE, L2VPN, L3VPN, BFD, Segment Routing.
• Understanding of Switching VLAN, STP, RSTP, MSTP, VRRP, HSRP.
• IP Security protocols- IPSEC, GRE, VPN, CGNat.
• CISCO, Spine-leaf Architecture, Border-Leaf Architecture, VX-LAN.
• Telecom knowledge (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G Service Flow & Interfaces).
• Product/Vendor knowledge on CISCO
