Job summary

Abacus IT is seeking a motivated NOC Analyst to join our Network Operations Center in Chennai. The role focuses on proactive monitoring, health checks, trend analysis, and preventive actions to keep systems reliable and available.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, backup testing, incident escalation, SLA management, and cross-team collaboration with Infrastructure, Network, Cloud, Security, and Service Desk. A 1–3 year background in NOC/IT ops is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in a NOC, Infrastructure Operations, Managed Services or IT Operations
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing and switching
• Experience monitoring Windows and Linux servers
• Hands-on with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG or LogicMonitor
• Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
• Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, ConnectWise, Jira)
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 environment

• Resolve backup issues and perform restore testing.
• Identify potential issues, performance degradation and capacity risks before they impact services.
• Analyze alerts, trends and recurring incidents to recommend preventive actions.
• Escalate critical incidents and support outage management activities.
• Monitor service availability and adherence to SLAs.
• Generate health, performance and capacity reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, cloud, security and service desk teams.
• Maintain documentation and incident records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and performance.
• Install software, patches and updates on desktops, laptops and servers.

Roles & responsibility:

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in a NOC, Infrastructure Operations, Managed Services, or IT Operations environment.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, and switching.
• Experience monitoring Windows and Linux server environments.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as: SolarWinds/PRTG/Logic Monitor
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
• Understanding of cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure and AWS.
• Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, ConnectWise, or Jira.
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 environment
