Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, network engineering, or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in a NOC, infrastructure operations, managed services, or IT operations.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, and switching.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve basic desktop, software, network and server issues following published escalation guidelines to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• Assist clients with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop computers, mobile devices, peripheral equipment and software.
• Follow standard escalation process, involving senior resources in a timely manner where required.
• Install software, patches and updates on desktops, laptops and servers.
• Resolve backup issues and perform restore testing.
• Work with senior resources to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and debug complex technical and computer systems, and software.
• Perform routine cleanup of client network closets including labeling, removal of unneeded equipment, and updating of documentation.
• Exhibit adaptability willingness to alter shifts and job requirements to meet client and MIT needs.
• Comply with all safety requirements, including completing all required training, following all guidance provided in MIT policies, procedures, field guidelines, reporting requirements, and technical advisories.
• Participate in all ongoing product, equipment, technical and business-related training to maintain necessary certifications, skills, and professional knowledge

Job Title: NOC Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated NOC Engineer to join our Network Operations Center team. This role focuses on proactively monitoring, analyzing, and running routine health checks. The ideal candidate will identify potential issues before they impact business operations, perform trend analysis, and collaborate with technical teams to drive preventive actions.

Roles & responsibility:

• Troubleshoot and resolve basic desktop, software, network and server issues following published escalation guidelinesto ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner

• Assist clients with the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop computers, mobile devices, peripheral equipment and software

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in a NOC, Infrastructure Operations, Managed Services, or IT Operations environment.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, and switching.
• Experience monitoring Windows and Linux server environments.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as: SolarWinds/PRTG/LogicMonitor/Datto RMM/Nagios/Ninja
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper‑V.
• Understanding of cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure and AWS.
• Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, ConnectWise, or Jira.
• Hands-on experience with Windows 2019/2016/2012/2008 servers, Active Directory, Backup Technologies, Internet/DNS/E‑mail/Communication issues
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple incidents.
• Ability to learn and retain new technology skills and troubleshooting processes, team player, maintain calm and present yourself professionally in high stress situations.
