Tata Consultancy Services in Hyderabad is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to manage routing, switching and security across multiple sites. You will handle L2 incidents and troubleshoot TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP/EIGRP, and LAN/WAN connectivity, while performing basic configurations on Cisco routers, switches, and wireless controllers under guidance.
You will monitor health and performance with NMS tools, analyze logs to resolve issues on switches, routers, firewalls and WLAN access points, and support
1. Strong network administration and troubleshooting skills.
2. Good Understanding and troubleshooting skills of TCP/IP, Switching &Routing protocols, MPLS, Load balancing
3. Knowledge and experience in STP, VTP, HSRP, VLAN, QoS and other switching technologies
4. Good Knowledge and experience on Cisco Wireless Controllers.
5. Basic exposure to firewalls (Cisco ASA / Palo Alto / Checkpoint).
6. Excellent analytical and organizational skills and the ability to work with multiple geographically dispersed teams
7. Excellent listening skills & ability to communicate clearly and fluently in English
8. Flexibility to work in shifts for 24x7 support
9. Strong team player with a constructive perspective and commitment to the success of the business 10. Ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks with conflicting priorities 11. Product knowledge: o Routing Protocols, especially MPLS, BGP, EIGRP o Cisco Routers -- 7200, 3800, 3600, 2800, 2900, 881 o Firewalls -- Cisco ASA5550, Checkpoint, Palo Alto o Load Balancers F5 o Switches -- Nexus 9K/7K/5K/2K, Cisco 9300/6500/4500/3750/2960, Juniper switches o WLAN Wireless LAN Controllers, WCS, Cisco WLAN Controllers o Zscaler (ZIA) o SD-WAN o Cisco ACI using Spine-Leaf
1. Experience on Network and Security architecture designing
2. ITIL Certification
3. CCNP / CCNA Certification
1 Handle L2 incidents and service requests related to routing, switching, wireless, and firewall issues.
2 Troubleshoot network problems involving TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, routing protocols (BGP/EIGRP), and LAN/WAN connectivity.
3 Perform basic configuration tasks on Cisco routers, switches, and wireless controllers under L3 guidance.
4 Monitor health and performance of network devices, links, and circuits using NMS tools.
5 Analyze logs and events to resolve issues with switches, routers, firewalls, and WLAN access points.
6 Support L1 engineers through guided troubleshooting and knowledge sharing.
7 Escalate complex or recurring issues to L3 and follow through till closure.
8 Maintain documentation, SOPs, and update knowledge base articles.
9 Provide support in a 24x7 shift-based environment
