Job summary

TUV India Pvt. Ltd. (TV NORD GROUP) invites applications for a Mechanical Quality Control Engineer to inspect structural steel fabrication works and raw materials with complete documentation.

The role demands extensive experience in welding inspection and NDT, with familiarity with ITPs and QA/QC standards. Candidates should hold a BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years in steel fabrication inspection, including experience with industrial and commercial structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in structural steel fabrication and inspection.
• Experience with industrial buildings and commercial structures.
• Understanding of fabrication drawings, welding symbols, GA drawings.
• NDT Level II certification and welding inspection proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Inspect structural steel fabrication and raw materials with proper documentation.
• Maintain ITPs, welding reports, NCRs, and RFI logs.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures align with ISO 9001 and project specifications.
• Maintain material traceability records.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE/ B. Tech)

Professional Experience:

• 5+ years (minimum) of relevant experience in structural steel fabrication and inspection. Proven track record in working with:
• Industrial buildings
• Commercial structures

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

• Understanding of fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and general arrangement (GA) drawings
• Proficiency in welding inspection (WPS, PQR, WPQ, weld mapping)
• The candidate is well-acquainted with ASTM and AWS standards, particularly those applicable to structural steel fabrication and welding processes. He holds a valid Level II certification in relevant Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods.

Quality Assurance & Documentation:

• Knowledge of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
• Experience in preparing Welding Reports, NCRs, RFI logs, and material traceability records
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures aligned with ISO 9001 and project specifications
