Job summary

Sayadav is seeking a QA/QC Engineer (Mechanical) for PEB and Structural Steel projects in Pune. The role reports to the Project Manager and focuses on implementing QAP/ITP for fabrication and erection activities.

Responsibilities include material inspection, MTC verification, heat-number traceability, welding inspection per IRS standards, and maintaining QA/QC records, with liaison to the PMC/TPI and external inspectors.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Welding inspection certification desirable (e.g., CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI / NDT Level II).
• Minimum 35 years in QA/QC of structural steel / PEB fabrication and erection, preferably on railway / industrial / infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Implement the approved Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) for all PEB fabrication and erection activities.
• Carry out raw-material inspection and verify Mill Test Certificates (MTC), maintaining heat-number traceability (IS 2062) through material inward, cutting, fit-up and welding.
• Inspect and clear stage activities cutting, fit-up (before welding), welding, surface preparation, painting/DFT, and erection alignment at the defined hold/witness points.
• Verify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS/WPSS), welder qualifications, and witness/interpret welding inspection including visual, DP and UT/RT as per IRS WBC:2001.
• Maintain all QA/QC records/registers material inward, cutting plan, fit-up, welding, calibration, NCR and offer works for inspection to the Authority Engineer / PMC / TPI.
• Raise and follow up Non-Conformance Reports (NCR); ensure corrective/preventive action and closure.
• Ensure calibration of measuring/testing equipment and control of coating (DFT) and dimensional tolerances.
• Coordinate with the fabrication yard, site erection team, Authority Engineer and third-party inspection agency for inspections and clearances.

1. QUALIFICATION

• Diploma /B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

2. EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 35 years in QA/QC of structural steel / PEB fabrication and erection, preferably on railway / industrial / infrastructure projects.
• Working knowledge of RDSO / IRS structural steel fabrication QAP and IS codes.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
