Job summary

Onward Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Pune to join our product development team. You will create detailed 3D models, assemblies and drawings, and maintain documentation through the development cycle.

You should have a BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and 5–7 years of relevant experience, with hands-on skills in SolidWorks or Solid Edge, sheet-metal design, tubing, and GD&T. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5–7 years of professional mechanical design experience.
• Proven knowledge of design for manufacturing and GD&T.
• Experience with 3D CAD, drawing release and BOM creation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new products on time.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, drawings and BOM documents.
• Perform tolerance analysis and material selection per standards.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement per ISO 9001; ASME Y14.5.

Position: Mechanical Design Engineer

Experience: 5 to7 Years
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management (Onsite), Manufacturing, offshore Team and Quality to deliver new products on time.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings or Tech Spec document & BOM for new product designs & Maintain throughout development cycle.
• Perform tolerance analysis, material selection with industry standards
• Drive continuous improvement per ISO 9001 & ASME Y14. Skills & Experience
• Fair understanding of thermodynamics, airflow, and heat transfer principles.
• Hands on experience with sheet metal design, Tube Routing, Large Assembly management and drawing creation in SolidWorks or Solid-Edge Experience on advanced modelling and simulation tools for added advantage
• Fair understanding of fabrication processes (Sheetmetal, Tubing, Brazing & Welding) and GD&T assignment.
• Strong communication, collaboration & Leadership skills.
