Source-Right seeks a Mechanical Development Engineer – CAD (TT60ST RM 4358) with strong NX/Teamcenter skills to design and release EV driveline components. You will create 2D/3D CAD data, perform calculations, and engage cross-functional teams for successful part release.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics engineering and at least 3 years of design experience, with preferred expertise in EV/ICE driveline systems and GD&T knowledge.

  • Experience creating and maintaining 2D/3D drawings/models using NX CAD and Teamcenter.

Responsibilities

  • Generate design concepts and math models to support the program team.
  • Create part, assembly drawings and 3D models using NX.
  • Conduct Design Release Reviews and create drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with Program Manager, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Suppliers.
  • Promote component reuse and review change requests.
  • Provide technical support for component issues during validation.

Position: Mechanical Development Engineer – CAD (TT60ST RM 4358)
Job Purpose

A Mechanical Development Engineer (MDE) is responsible for design and release of components that are used in conjunction within an assembly to meet the overall performance requirements of a product. MDE works in the PowerDrive Systems organization collaborating with Program Lead Engineers and support CAE Engineers. He must be capable of completing work requests from the Program Lead Engineer(s) to meet program performance requirements and timing. He must co‑ordinate between design and analysis work requests from the team members and co‑ordinate with manufacturing, purchasing, component engineering and suppliers for component release. In addition to component design and development, the MDE is responsible for generating 2D and 3D CAD data of these designs. He should work under minimal supervision while developing designs, and stack-ups of individual parts or assemblies. He is also responsible for checking detail drawings and layouts which also includes producing detail drafting and other drafting related tasks as required

Looking for Mechanical Engineer with experience in the EV domain, specifically in electric motors, housings, and gearbox systems. The candidate should also possess hands‑on expertise in NX (Unigraphics).

Key Responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of Electric Driveline and/or Traditional (ICE) Driveline systems and components.
  • Understanding and interpretation of component and sub‑system design requirements provided by program leads.
  • Generating design concepts and creation of math models independently to support program team.
  • Creation of part, assembly drawings and 3D models using Unigraphics NX.
  • Able to perform engineering calculations for component and/or sub‑systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of component drawing, including tolerances with GD&T, and their use in stack‑up calculation.
  • Knowledge on component and/or sub‑system DFMEAs used to define Special Characteristics
  • Knowledge about ADVP&R and similar component & system requirements at component & system level.
  • Conducting DRR (Design Release Review) and creating work products (drawings, specifications, etc.) per program timing
  • Being the point of contact for technical discussions with Program Manager, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Supplier Development Engineers
  • Understanding and implementation for PDP (Product Development Process) and EDF (Engineering Development Framework)
  • Promoting component re‑use through knowledge of the global component family
  • Reviewing / Approving internal and external change requests
  • Providing technical support for component issues arising in validation or warranty
  • Providing cost reduction ideas for their respective component families.
  • Conducting and documenting benchmarking and lessons learned reviews
What We Are Looking For
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of related engineering work experience in design field
  • Experience in EV Driveline and/or ICE Driveline systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining 2D/3D technical drawings/models using NX CAD Software and PLM knowledge in Teamcenter.
  • Demonstrated experience of component and/or subsystem design, development, validation, and release
  • Demonstrated experience in DFMEA
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelors/ Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of related engineering work experience in design field
  • Experience in EV Driveline and/or ICE Driveline systems.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining 2D/3D technical drawings/models using NX CAD Software and PLM knowledge in Teamcenter.
  • Experience and/or training in Root Cause Analysis
  • Experience and/or training in APQPExperience and/or training in DFM/DFA
  • Self‑directed/self‑motivated
  • Excellent drive for results with the ability to coordinate projects from start to completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred Software/ Hardware and General Training
