Job summary

Zentron Labs in Tiruchirappalli, India is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the development of company products. You will work with the design team to ensure components are created on schedule and in close collaboration with assembly and procurement to streamline the development cycle.

The role requires hands-on CAD expertise, material knowledge, and experience with Special Purpose Machines and shop-floor environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with 2D/3D CAD tools.
• Knowledge of materials and their properties for design.
• Experience with OEM component selection.
• Experience with Special Purpose Machines.
• Experience on a shop floor environment.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the mechanical design team to ensure mechanical components of company products are designed on a timely fashion.
• Work closely with assembly and procurement to ensure smooth product development cycle.
• Interface with business development team to understand customer/market needs and translate that into robust mechanical designs.
• Conduct design reviews to get buy-in from all cross-function teams.
• Design of the mechanical parts keeping in mind part presentation, material needs as well as end customer usage and ergonomics.
• Optimise product design for minimum lifetime cost and high level of ruggedness.
• Provide immediate response and timely resolutions to design related production issues
