Job summary

Valveworks India in Pune is seeking an experienced Mastercam 5-Axis CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and prove out CNC programs for high-precision Oil & Gas components such as valve bodies and manifolds.

The role requires strong GD&T, Mastercam 5-Axis programming, and hands-on experience with 5-axis VMC/HMC machines and various controllers; candidate will collaborate with engineering, production, and quality to ensure safety, accuracy, and process reliability.

Qualifications

• Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• 25 years of experience in Oil & Gas machining environment.
• 23 years of hands-on CNC machine operating experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in Mastercam 5-Axis programming.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize 5-axis CNC milling programs using Mastercam.
• Machine complex Oil & Gas components including valve bodies, bonnets, manifolds, blocks, and fittings.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and 3D CAD models.
• Work with materials such as Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, Duplex, Inconel, and Monel.
• Perform toolpath simulation, collision checks, and program prove-out.
• Optimize cycle time, surface finish, and tool life.
• Troubleshoot machining issues (tool wear, chatter, distortion).
• Select cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies for 5-axis operations
• Maintain program documentation and revision control
• Ensure compliance with Oil & Gas quality and safety standards
• Support shop floor during setup, first-off inspection, and production runs
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams for continuous improvement

The candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and proving out CNC programs for critical, pressure-containing components such as valve bodies, manifolds, flanges, spools, and fittings. This role demands high precision, safety compliance, and process reliability.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical or Production Engineering
• 25 years of experience in Oil & Gas machining environment

• Strong hands-on experience in Mastercam 5-Axis programming
• Experience with VMC/HMC machines with 5th axis
• Exposure to CNC controllers: Fanuc / Mitsubishi / Siemens / Mazak
• Strong understanding of GD&T, datums, and positional tolerances
• Practical knowledge of cutting tools for tough materials
• Knowledge of fixture design and work holding
• Oil & Gas standards knowledge (preferred)
• Experience in automotive, aerospace, medical, or other precision industries is an advantage
