Cyient DLM is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to translate 3D models and drawings into precise machine code. You will select tooling, define cutting paths, and ensure parts meet stringent tolerance standards.
Responsibilities include program development, process optimization, and virtual validation for multi-axis machines, with collaboration across CNC operators to ensure quality and efficiency.
A Design Led Manufacturing Partner to meet complex product requirements.
For over 30 years, Cyient DLM has been a trusted electronics and mechanical manufacturing partner and systems supplier to some of the largest players across multiple industries. As an integrated manufacturing partner that provides Design Led Manufacturing (DLM) solutions to customers, we take ownership of design, manufacturing, testing, and certification support to ensure that customers' products meet robust standards in reliability, safety, and performance. We have expertise in safety-critical electronics in highly regulated industries. Our engineers have significant design and manufacturing expertise that helps our customers build complex products and achieve faster time-to-market.
We are seeking a detail-orientedCNC Programmerto translate 3D models and technical drawings into high-quality machine code. You will be responsible for selecting the right tooling, determining the most efficient cutting paths, and ensuring that our CNC machines produce parts that meet rigorous precision standards.
Program Development:Create G-code and M-code programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Master CAM) for multi-axis machines.
Process Optimization:Analyze blueprints and 3D models to determine the most efficient sequence of operations, tool selection, and feed/speed rates.
Simulation & Validation:Run virtual simulations to identify potential tool collisions or errors before the program hits the shop floor.
Setup Collaboration:Work closely with CNC Operators to troubleshoot "first-run" parts and adjust programs for optimal performance.
Quality Control:Ensure all programmed parts meet tolerances—often within microns—using precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
Education:Be / BTech / Diploma; Degree/Certification in Precision Machining or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Experience:5–6 years of experience in CNC programming (Lathes, Mills, or 5-axis centers).
Software Proficiency:Expert-level knowledge of CAD/CAM (Master CAM) software and a strong grasp of manual G-code editing.
Mathematical Skills:High proficiency in geometry and trigonometry to calculate tool paths and angles.
Knowledge:Deep understanding of metallurgy and how different materials (Aluminum, Titanium, Steel, Plastics) react to various cutting speeds.
Problem Solver:You don't just find a mistake; you figure out if it’s a software bug, a tool wear issue, or a material flaw.
Safety Conscious:You treat high-speed machinery with the respect it deserves.
Precision-Obsessed:You believe "close enough" is never good enough when it comes to tolerances.
